Let's see everyone's prediction on each team's first possession. I think TN will move the ball but will stall and have to settle for a field goal. I think WV tries a long ball on the first play which is incomplete which leads to a 3 and out. The homer in me sees this as a likely scenario. Anyone else have an opinion?

That long ball is actually a pick 6

We run for 5 or 6 yards. WV tries something through the air looking for 10-15 yards over the middle.

We win toss and defer. They go 3 and out. We have a 10 play drive, scoring a TD on 1st and goal from the 8. Fade route from JG to Callaway. 7-0

We get a pick 6 on WV’s next possession. 14-0.

They fumble the KO, we recover and score on an end around. 21-0.

WV is shell shocked and only muster late points to end the game 35-17.

First down was often key for WVU last year.... so....

UT stops a 1st down run play for no yardage. On second down Grier is forced into a quick throw by a blitz off the edge. On 3rd down, Grier completes a screen for 7 yards. Punt.

UT... Everyone in the world is expecting them to depend on the run game and long possessions... so.... UT goes PA with a wheel route to Wolf who got a complete mismatch with one of their LB's. First down at the WVU 35. UT scores 4 plays later on a fade to Callaway.

Play action pass down the seam to DWA who breaks a tackle and shows WV DBs what SEC TE speed is, afterburners kick in and takes it to the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.....GIVE HIM SIX. TOUCHDOWN TENNESSEE

One of our DB intercepts the ball and returns it to their 20 then runs to our sideline and dunks the ball into a gray trashcan....oh wait. Nevermind.

WVU -
1st snap - Paul Bain looks up and makes eye contact with the guard as the ball is snapped. The guard back peddles over Grier. Grier down by contact loss of 4 yards.
2nd snap - Grier takes a knee.
Infuriated WVU's OC switches to the shotgun.
3rd snap - Seeing P. Bain collapse the pocket Grier releases the ball in 1/3rd of a second. Buchanon playing man pressure surely would have had an easy pick 6 had the ball not hit Sills in the back of the helmet 1/2 a yard past the line of scrimmage. Announcers comment that Grier appears to have spilled lemon gatorade all over his crotch.
WVU punts.

UT
1st snap - I-Form 2 WR. E. Wolf lined up as split end on the right side 2yrds behind line of scrimmage. UT runs HB trap to the right side pulling Trey Smith as E. Wolf cuts left putting a chip block on the weakside DT that's trying to crash the play behind the LOS. Trey Smith pancakes a LB and a Safety as Tim Jordan gets 15 yards uncontested up the middle before their CB comes in for a diving shoe string tackle.
2nd snap - Exact same formation with Chandler as the HB. E. Wolf motions left before the snap. Bubble screen shovel pass Chandler for 20 yards.
3rd snap - JG hit as he throws to Juan Jennings on a play action crossing route for the TD.
