I'd like to run Evan Berry or Derrell Scott with Hurd in the backfield in a Wildcat formation in which a direct snap could go to either, and it could be a read option or just a run.

I'd like beast on 3rd and Fourth in 2-3 yds. Just need to not jump and cause false starts......

-More QB keeps

-More screen passes (downfield screens, not bubble screens)

-More end arounds with Devrin

-More reverses and double reverses

Pretty much more of the stuff that's..... ya know..... successful.

Instead of our RB, who is doing well in pass protection, staying behind as well as our TE release both of them. TE runs a drag route and the RB chips and waits for a screen. If the QB is in trouble, he moves the pocket and dumps off to the RB. A lot of NFL teams do this. But, what would they know?

Less Read-Option (or gap scheme or whatever terminology they want to use). Regardless of what they call it... it doesn't work. It leaves the QB and RB almost in freeze-motion. QB stands there as the RB comes up to get the ball. QB then hands off and tucks his arms as if he's going to fool anyone. DE/LB is almost always unblocked which is why people think it's the RO. Because you read the DE/LB then you either keep as QB or hand off. Otherwise, it's just a freebie play which is the dumbest kind of offensive play. Stop this JV crap. Either run it with the QB to keep teams honest or shelf this thing until we get a QB that either reads or keeps it. I refuse to believe Bajakian and Jones are so daft that they run this "gap scheme" and don't block the DE by design. Methinks they're just covering up for poor reads or their own stubborn inability to change what is completely broken.

Fewer WR screens. More slants, if Worley can throw them.

Start having designed roll-outs. Crompton, and that 2009 OL was struggling mightily. Kiffin/Chaney started working in designed roll outs for Crompton. It shrank the field in half and gave him an uncluttered field to read and throw. Made a world of difference. Worley seemed to actually throw well late in the game when he was scrambling. Just give him a player running a 5y drag and I think he's good.

STOP RUNNING SHORT ROUTES ON 3RD AND LONG.

Politely ask the OL to get mean. Or something. Jashon Robertson seems to be the only guy on our OL that wants to beat the @#(*@ out of somebody. We need a mean OL. We have a soft OL.

Instruct the C to snap the ball when we are running the wildcat and the opposing D is completely lost on 3rd and 1. This is a better option than standing still until our TE just loses his stance and now it's a false start.

There were a lot of problems with our gameplan and execution against Florida. A lot of it is preparation that should have been done from Sunday to Friday.

The i formation

i agree, get up under center and give the running backs a quick hand off, instead of acting like there could be a read option and poor old beat up Worley will run the ball and no,not all the time, but 2 backs are needed,a full back would be a good thing

or go with 2 tight ends, the offensive line needs some big time help, please do something and quit letting our QB get the snot beat out of him

The i formation

This is just crazy. We would be better off in the wing T. The I formation is a power set. Surely you dont think size and strength is the strength of our o-line? Misdirection is our best chance at being successful. Lining Worley up under center isnt going to stop him from getting sacked any more than he does now.

The reason the McFadden/Jones wildcat was so effective at Arkansas a few years ago is that both McFadden and Jones could both run with the ball so effectively. The defense couldn't key on one guy and it was an easy 5-7 yards almost every time. So yes, Hurd and another talented runner back there would be a boost to that package.
