It's a horrible feeling to not feel those pre-game butterflies. No matter who we play I've always has a hyper, impatient feeling in the pit of my stomach waiting for kickoff.

Not today, and I"m afraid it's gone for the season. You know it's bad when you're excited about basketball season in the middle of October on a Saturday afternoon. You also know it's bad when the best news of the year is the possibility of a coaching change.

It's a sad day to be a Vol :hmm:

For the first time since 2001, i'm missing a vols game. I don't go to the games, but i'm not watching it or listening to it. I have other plans and atm i couldn't rly care wat happens. I still love the Vols, but it just isn't the same. The relationship is stale. It doesn't rly matter if we win or lose anymore. It's sad :(

Right there with you, VBN.

No butterflies, no POTS Band CD playing, and I haven't even hung the flag yet. I didn't stay up late cooking or packing the car last night. I don't know who's on gameday radio right now, and I didn't even notice our game being mentioned on ESPN this morning. There's only one UT in the top-25, and it wears the wrong shade of orange.

This sucks and it, really, is a tough time to be a Vol. My hope is that EVERYONE is this miserable and demands that tough decisions are made in order to return us to Greatness.

....It's still gameday. I still care...I just hope we don't screw around and lose to Miss. State. It's the seeds of doubt that make me care about what happens. The only positive feeling I have is that one way or another....we win.

If the team wins....great.

If we lose..... It's another nail in Phil's coffin.

It's nothing personal.... just business.

So you're not going? I still wanted to visit your tailgate...:cray:

I agree the feeling just isn't there, but I think UT wins this game by a TD. I gave away my 4 tix to some of my Bama friends to let them see the beat down they will be getting next week. *snicker*

I noticed that also.....was there any mention AT ALL of our game on gameday today. I think at this point we're a total after thought or even worse not even a thought at all!!:cray::no:

I, literally, can't find anyone else who wants to go down for the usual festivities. The ineptitude of Fulmer's team has eroded what used to be a crowd of anywhere from 10 to 30 friends down to just my wife and I. FWIW, she is not the "on campus at 8:30 cooking breakfast" type. So, we're going to probably get some dinner downtown and consider going to the game, unless we find something more interesting to do.

I had two free tickets offered to me 10 rows up on the 15 yard line and couldn't find anyone that wanted to go. Never has there been anything this bad.

I gotta tell you, I miss that feeling of anger and hurt when we would lose. It would be a cloud over my week.

Now it just doesn't matter.

Woe is us. Someone get out a violin.

I miss the feeling of going into a game against Georgia, South Carolina, or Mississippi State confident that we were going to win, it was just a matter of how much. I miss the Tennessee-Florida rivalry. It hasn't been one lately. I miss being in the top 10, and we aren't even in the top 25 any more. I really do miss the gameday excitement.

No worries. We are the new KY, and basketball is about to start.

I agree with you, I am 43 years old and for the first time i can remember i really dont care about what happens today. Brother i bleed orange, but this is not Tennessee Football. I am just so OVER all the crap i see on the field. CPF has taken this program and drove it stright into a middle of the road WAC team. When UT gets serious about leadership I will get serious about support. A day on the lake fishing sounds much better than cursing the TV. Thank God its almost basketball time !!! Go Vols !!

Agree with the emotions of everyone. It really and truly hit home for me when we were losing to Northern Illinois. I didn't care. I'll check in on the game tonight from time to time on Espn MVP, maybe here, but that's about it. It hurts to think that this time last year I was disgusted to hear the Alabama game would be on Raycom. This year I feel a little nauseous that it's going to be televised at all - let alone ESPN primetime.

Over the past few days though, I've started to have this feeling of anger. I feel like I've been duped the past few years with the coaching, etc. It hurts to realize that your team hasn't been relevant in years, but you've thought they were always in it. It reminds me of when I worked in the juniors department of a department store in college. We would on occasion have these 55+ year old women come in and try to purchase things. Just because you can fit into the clothes, at 67 years old, your behind is not "Juicy." We fit the mold a few times with the big win, etc. But we haven't truly belonged.

I need a hug.
