Went the the Kentucky v Arkansas game tonight and one thought kept striking me all night. Arkansas fans reminded me to a T of the UT fans that I watched the UT - UF game with - convinced that the team was capable of doing things that it was not capable of doing. Primarily, Hog fans expected their team to stop the run and they had absolutely no prayer of doing so.

In fact, when Kentucky went away from the Woodson led throwing game and ran almost exclusively in the second half, turn out the lights. They killed Arky in the second half. Each of the two teams I watched tonight will run at will against our Vols. Fortunately, Arky absolutely cannot throw it. Unfortunately, KY can throw it.

McFadden is the best football player in the country IMO. He's killing people when he has no help at all from a passing game. If D-Mac & Jones continue what they're doing, they might comprise the All-SEC backfield.

I agree that McFadden is the best player in America. Sad that he wont win the Heisman.....at least the Big Ten is so bad this year that another joke like Troy Smith wont win it. I said it 3 months ago and I stand by it....Booty from USC wins the trophy. Is he the best player...not even close. But thats never mattered in the voting before.

i was there myself, big papa. my son is an arkansas grad. if any team in the country exceeds the vol staff for lackluster, insipid, unimaginative coaching, it would have to be the hogs. both teams deserve better.

With a little bit of luck and a win over UF, Ky could pull off the SECE this season. They are the 2nd best team in the east now. Could be an amazing season for the Cats.

I was transplanted to Fayetteville a couple of years ago, so I make all of the home games. The natives are a bit restless wrt the coaching staff.

i was there myself, being in Fayetteville now... the Hog fans are dillusional, they really are. Last year got their hopes up so high and now that their defense sucks their team can't stop anyone.

since we're all pretty close we need to get together and watch the UT game sometime. 2 of us in Fayetteville and 1 in Ft. Smith, shouldn't be too hard.

Vol_in_AR is also in Fayetteville. I also have a group of about 6 others that are big UT fans. I'm all for figuring out how to gather and watch some football, albeit poorly played. I have the ESPN Gameplan, so we could potentially watch at my place. As a warning, I do hit the road on many weekends to watch college football around the area, so it might be a bit tougher, but I'm here for all the Arky home games.

I had a group of UT fans, most of whom work at the Wal-Mart home office, out at the Arky game yesterday tailgating, all wearing orange! It was great, don't know if you saw us or not but, we'll usually do that when the Vols aren't playing at the same time. UT should only have 1 more Gameplan game (ULLafayette) so, that could work.

I think Arky plays North Texas here next weekend so, we'll probably be out there. We could always put a face with a name out at the game somewhere.

Good for Kentucky, although I'm a Vols fan I am glad they are doing well to make the SEC even better. It's a different story in basketball, I can't wait for Bruce to hand it to them this year.

Casey Dick may be the worst QB in the SEC.
he has the worst receiving corps for 100% certain. With Monk and Cleveland out and Williams at USC, he has no options. I know we think our situtation is terrible, but Arky makes our receiving corps look like the early 2000s Rams.

there are about a dozen UT grads in the ft. smith area. we used to get together at a local pizza joint to watch one game together. when i moved here in 75, there was only one other grad i know of in town. arkansas was in the SWC and television coverage was still in the dark ages. it was like coming from the dark side of the moon. if it hadn't been for bowden wyatt and john barnhill, folks around here wouldn't have known UT had a football team.

Casey Dick is horrible but he just has nobody to throw to. It got worse on Saturday with Crosby Tuck hurting his elbow and he's now out for the year. Monk should be back by the Auburn game so that'll help, but he probably won't be 100% for the rest of the year. They're pretty much screwed because they can't stop anyone and they can't throw the ball effectively.
