Just an idea, but would a pure news exchange forum be a good idea? Sometimes it's difficult to find all of the juicy inside info you guys have to offer. Just thought it might make navigating a little bit easier.

Let's get some more feedback and see what others think. I have often thought that it might be nice to have a place that only news items are discussed and exchanged but I am not sure how it would work and I don't want to take away from the regular board.

vol freak, I don't post often, but I check every day just to get a feel for what is new and what's going on with Tennessee athletics. A section for pure news feed would be great in my opinion. Also, thanks for maintaining this site. Its one of only a few I visit often.

It may be a good thing. All I know for sure is the other day, a normal week, there were about 570 viewers of which only 20% are were members.Thats good though.I know Volnation has had up to 970 viewers at tops previously. What all this means to me is Volnation is very healthy and is really growing and any new ideas as suggested could help but the I wouldn't want anybody or thing to have an easy in to Volnation simply because this didn't happen over night. Now, if it was a regular star poster that has been on here for sometime, I could see more serious consideration.Nothing irks me more than someone trying to drop a link on Volnation. But its your site Freak, and maybe you want to give it a whirl.:twocents:

A rule could be you have to have a source article with a link.

Read the article. Discuss. or is that too much?

Not sure I understand what kind of info y'all are looking to isolate. There is already a setup of links to the work of statewide media reporting on the Vols on the main page. If discussion of the reporting is the issue, this is the place for it I think.

What am I missing on this.....:dunno:

Well the news media don't know everything, and not everyone has subscriptions to the newspaper websites. Just cause it ain't broke doesn't mean you can't upgrade. Besides it would draw more viewers to the website, and keep the UT fans more informed w/o too many stupid opinions.

volfreak, it may be a good idea to post this one yourself and put it on the top of the forums to get the most feedback. If it's good, then maybe even do a poll.

Not sure I understand what you are after. The home page has links to the vast majority of Vol related stories.

Are you talking about setting aside another section for additional links without discussion?

Who are you calling stupid? It's called a forum for reason........opinions, opinions and more opinions.......even stupid ones (though not mine of course).

My appolgies. Allow me to reprhase. Unimportant opinions to the avg. fan who soley wants info. You'll have to agree that the forums do get offtrack a lot, mainly wen a fan from another school comes here. I'm not saying opinions are bad (that's why we have fourms). But finding imp. info. could be easier to keep the volnation imformed and updated.

A buddy of mine goes to a Big 10 board and they have it setup there where Big 10 related news automaticaly posts in a news section. It's some kind of code or script they use and I'm pretty sure they use VBulletin also. I think it would be a nice addition to the forums.
