I just got through reading the article in my new Football Time in Tenn magazine about how important Peyton Manning is to UT. It talks about how whenever he is in town how he "coaches" the young Qbs and Randy Sanders says that he can tell them the same thing 100 times but when Peyton says it they hang on every word.... so here is my thought when Peyton hangs up his pads as a pro will he go into coaching and if so what are the chances of him ending up on UT's staff? what do you think?

dude...i can never read your posts...I don't really like trying to decipher all the random coaches/players names just to figure out what you're saying. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but it really makes it hard to just read through. One has to read back and forth just to figure out who you're talking about...

I don't know what the chances are of Peyton being a coach at UT, but I am sure that he would make a good one. I guess the biggest question would be if Peyton wants to coach because he loves UT football after all these years. He certainly won't need the money..

I, for one, could certainly see him back in Orange somewhere down the line. Who knows, with his knowledge of the game, maybe even as an OC?

I think it's a complete pipe dream. Why would anybody with that kind of money and used to that kind of lifestyle want to work that hard?

For his love of the game. I think the same way about him down the road returning as a QB coach etc.

Again speaking years down the road, If he does coach i think we all know where he'll land. Could just be a sweet thought but, Wouldnt he make a hell'uva OC.

I think he thrives on the work , I think the work would be what would draw him into coaching

Yup! the $$$ isnt what motivates him. Im sure its nice", But he does not have to make the phone calls to our QB's during the week or visit the practice field when he gets the chance to help. That article also speaks of how players hang on his words. I know if i was a young talented QB and had the chance to speak with him regularly it would be priceless.

Slim to none chance.

I see him either moving to Indy or maybe going home to New Orleans

For real. All the best ones do that as well.

I personally see Rick Clausen as the strongest possible candidate for OC whenever that happens, but as long as Fulmer is around, Sanders will stay.

Thats what i admire most about rick! He is a student of the game and team minded. He knows the system as well or better than most on the field. It wouldnt bother me a bit if he returned later to coach on the offense. Our offense seems sometimes simple, but as we know and once again in the bowl game, We wasnt limited by anything!
We had a few injurys etc...Munoz could have played, #7 was healthy enough to go. When Rick and RS opened up the playbook it was a breath of fresh air.
Leadership stood up and the team followed. Lets hope we can use the dusty pages again all this season....

No knock on THE MAN, but I'm not so sure that he has the voice for broadcasting.

I think he does. If not now, I am sure he could develop it.

If Marino can, I think Manning can.

I def think that he will be coaching later on down the road. The fact that he takes the time to help out while he is in town def shows his love for UT and his intrests in coaching. I think he will try coaching before he tries out the Broadcast Booth though. I dont think he would want to end up looking like Troy Aikman, who is undoubtably the worst broadcaster ever, in my opinion. But, Manning def does have the personality to be a great broadcaster. And of course, as a UT fan, I can only hope for him to come coach at UT. I love Peyton in his commercials!!!!

I think there is a coach inside of him dying to get out. It may be a pipedream but if you're gonna dream you might as well dream BIG!

Even his yr's with us he was a master student of film and perfected the art of checking off at the line. :worship:

Just remember . . . Joe Namath, OJ Simpson, Eric Dickerson and Michael Irvin have achieved success in broadcasting.

I forgot about Bradshaw. If that yahoo can parlay a funny accent into a broacasting career, Peyton can be the next Al Michaels.
