I have a friend that i went to high school with that will be a manager on the Tennessee Mens basketball staff this year. He gave me a few thoughts on the basketball team & Selby tonight.

Said that he talked to Jason Shay about the whole Selby situation, said Shay told him that Selby is one of the best PG's coming out of high school that he has ever seen. Said that the night before Selby decommited that he & his mother went out to dinner with LeBron James & World Wide Wes. He is expecting Selby to commit to Kentucky because of the connection Calipari has with World Wide Wes.

Also said that Kenny Hall is really proving himself in the weight room & on the court, said that he will make an impact this year.

Told me that he is expecting McBee to be redshirted, also said that McBee has to be the hardest working kid on the team, they cant get him out of the weight room or gym.

Said Renaldo Woolridge was overrated coming out of high school & he never sees him being an impact player for this team.

He also gave me names of 2 PG's that the staff is now going after since they lost Selby, i forgot their names but will ask him as soon as i see him again & post them.

Told me Scotty Hopson has really stepped it up this offseason & if he has a good year that he will go pro.

Everybody can't be right all the time like you.

I guess whoever rated him so high made a mistake...

Jurick's stock dropped and kept dropping. He was at one point like a top 15 player in the class... maybe beginning of his junior year? Just because of the size of course - then they realized his size wasn't going to translate into a great player.

Renaldo Woolridge's ranking was based on his potential (also why Bruce loved him.)thats why he was ranked so high. And I don't think he's horrible, he just won't "really" contribute until he is a Junior or Senior.

Wasn't that also the first Class of the NBA 1-Year Rule era to not have any sure-fire one-and-dones all year? I think the top players in the Class all disappointed a little, for the most part, nationally, based solely on where they were ranked. Given that, it makes sense that the bottom half of the Top 100 would be full of players who, in another year, would not be ranked that high.

It sounds like Woolridge is a hard worker, so I really hope he turns into a viable contributor, but he looked lost the one night I made it in for the Rocky Top League. That's not a good sign.

With the whole team back + Hall, Woolridge probably won't see the floor much this season.
