I thought this deserved a mention in the main forum. Matt Simms committed to Tennessee and will sign later today.

Thanks Freak! Looks like we will have a Simms under center after all. Just can't see Stephenson winning the job next year. GO VOLS! Welcome to the VOL Family Simms.

Did i hear this right? While sports animal was talking with matt sims on the radio, he mentioned that bruce irvin was coming to tennessee as well. So did he switch is commitment back to us? this would be huge. Simms was talking about how fast he was. He played against him in JUCO and Simms also said that Thompkins will be a huge deep threat.

If true this definately makes since on we were higher on him than Newton. Got 3 for one with this kid! Go Vols.

should be some good competition

This.

I'd be scared to put Stephens, Bray, or Simms under center today, but all three will be on campus for the next 8 1/2 months competing head-to-head. I'm confident that this coaching staff and tough competition will develop at least one of the three into a good SEC qb by September.

Yeah, give the kid a break, he's not his big brother, water under the bridge.

All of us wanted Crompton gone, and that turned out pretty well. Let it play out in spring practice before we roll our eyes...

These additions should make the offense more dynamic. That would help open some holes for Brown. I am thrilled!

Bradford was a 3 star. I know stars arent everything, but just goes to show not all successful Qbs are 5 star. Etc.

Let's hope he's more like his daddy than his brother. Of course Chris wasn't exactly horrible at Texas. He was a slightly above average college qb. His biggest problem as I remember was arm strength and Phil was never a gun slinger for the Giants. Does anyone know how strong Matt's arm is?

I don't care for his brother, but after seeing what he did for Crompton....I'll defer to CLK.

Strong enough to throw a steak and hit a guy in the head riding down the road on his bike.
