JUCO G Kevin Punter

Does this mean TN might actually have a true point guard next year???? That CAN'T be???

.

LOL! Didn't think so! NCAA rules clearly state that TN shall not be allowed to have a BBQ, a player with a BB gun, or a point guard! :banghead2:

Still, BOOOOM on the get!!!

.

He's a good pick up. Your avi wouldn't be a terrible pick up either. :good!:

Gotta have top 20 classes to compete, can't be reaching on players hoping to steal them from IUPUI.

Delusional.

CDT is on the job for two weeks and knuckle draggers like OP expect 5* players to be beating down his door.

The delusion and entitlement of some UT "fans" is stunning.

Ka-BOOM!

CDT getting it done recruiting wise. Much like Butch Jones says, get them on campus and Tennessee sells itself. Keep it rolling Donnie!

"I'm extremely pleased and excited about Kevin's decision to join our program here at Tennessee," Tyndall said. "He's a long, athletic perimeter player who can play multiple positions for us. That athleticism and length, coupled with his versatility, make him a player who fits our style perfectly.

"In addition to that, Kevin is a gym rat, which is exciting because guys like that who spend a lot of time in the gym always maximize their potential."

I was confident he would commit, if he visited as planned. Improves our team from day 1. Welcome Kevin.

If UT has to go the JUCO route it's nice to land 2 NJCAA first team all-americans.

Ellis and Punter

After out last Juco guys, it's nice to find someone who actually plays on their Juco team.

This should be close in impact to signing a high 4 star who has early NBA potential. You get two years out of a guy like that, we'll get two years out of Punter.

This doesn't mean I think Punter is an NBA player, just that the two year impact should be similar at UT to a very good high school kid who leaves after his second year.

Which is what you're supposed to get from Juco guys.

Agree. I think their is a greater appreciation for being there from JUCO guys as well. They may not have taken care of business in the classroom while n high school, but in JUCO their isn't a team of academic motivators/tutors like their is at a major U. So the effort and WANT to do what you gotta do is more impressive from that standpoint as well. IMO

Do you think Ellis is the guy CDT was referring to when he made reference to one recruit would not be available till late summer? My first thought was, "it was someone from JC, who has to take the math course required by the SEC before they could be admitted".

He said it was a graduate transfer when he made that comment, but it very well be that he could've misspoken and it is Ellis.

It would make sense as he shouldn't technically know about a graduate transfer being available and knowing he's a lock to Tennessee as that would mean he's had communication with an athlete at a school he's enrolled at.

Good question. Unless their is a mystery guy out there somewhere that we don't know about, I'd say yes.
