Moot point. If he quit on his team, that's what Nico did. If he's a cancer in the locker room, that's Boo. Don't think Heupel wants either of those types to contend with. He's got enough on his plate as it is.Let me reiterate that the article linked in the Op says:
“ Straight up, this hurts. Lowe was a 5-star guy, who should have been the next great pass-rusher among the Canes family. That's not going to be the case. At this time, it's unknown if he left Coral Gables on his own volition, or if Cristobal kicked him off the team. Either way, Lowe is done, and that's pretty dang deflating.”
Well they’re bringing him to campus. Do you think Heupel and Garner are unaware of what happened?Moot point. If he quit on his team, that's what Nico did. I’d guess CRG has the equity to make the decisions concerning DL recruits without CJH having to approve. Can’t keep quality assistants if you plan to micromanage them.Yep. And given our recent issues with Nico and Boo, I would be absolutely floored if Heupel would entertain even a thought of letting this one in the locker room. If he does, you know Heupel is in desperation mode. Nah, no way he brings him into the program.
War RoomFormer Miami signee Hayden Lowe will be in town to see Tennessee this weekend. Tennessee really likes his game off the edge. Cal, Alabama and others are also showing interest in that one.
“I love the Rocky Top Stadium,” Lowe said of what stood out about the visit. “The visit was great. I got to see all the coaches and everything. They bring in a lot of good things to my plate that I wished and hoped for, so that’s great. The defense he said that we are going to rotate a lot, so it’s gonna take care of my body when I get to the league. I just love the way that they doing things around here and are really locked in on ball. The culture is all great. And it’s really something I want to be a part of.”
“You know being from Los Angeles, California, we don’t really have football like that. It was electrifying, like that was probably one of the loudest stadiums I’ve been in you know, Rocky Top. So I think it hit like 117 last night on the decibels.
The former elite recruit admittedly did not know much about the Tennessee program prior to coming into town, but the visit exceeded expectations.
“So, the only thing I really knew was that it’s a college town,” Lowe added. “I knew the quarterback Nico because he was originally from Los Angeles, California, my hometown and he said a lot of great things about this place. By the things that I found out were very great. This is a college town with a city vibe as well, and I like it. It’s a good Community that really supports football and something that that really caught my attention is the academic piece. They have a really good business school something I want to major in.”
Tennessee’s defensive performance also impressed Lowe.
“Mostly the way that they rally to the ball and play as a unit,” Lowe said about Tennessee’s defensive performance. “They play with passion and violence, and they play fast and physical. That’s something that I want to be a part of and iron sharpens iron.”
Lowe has continued to connect with Rodney Garner through the recruiting process.
“He’s a great person. His message to me was just stay focused and keep working even through the tough times and you know, that’s something that will stick with me and that I will you know overly achieve
Lowe said he could “100 percent” envision himself playing at Tennessee and knows what he would bring to the table in the Vols defense.
Mainly, I’m gonna do my job. Play with my teammates. I just want to help this program win and be very successful and that’s something that I take pride in,” he said.
