Back in the portal. Don’t want but f the gators.

It was announced yesterday that cornerback transfer Elijiah Blades had entered the transfer portal.

The belief being that he wasn't happy with his limited playing time, so he decided to move on.

Today, Dan Mullen stated that he met with and dismissed Blades from the program.

After doing a little digging, Inside the Gators was told that this was a bad fit from the start. There have been multiple issues between Blades and cornerbacks coach Jules Montinar and other members of the staff.

It started to really come to a head when during halftime of the season opener against FAU, Blades said he was unable to continue because of a hamstring injury. Then, we're told that without direction from or clearing it with the staff, he took off his uniform and spent most of the second half back by the locker room or in the tunnel.

From there, things continued to go downhill until he wasn't dressed on Saturday and kicked off the team on Sunday.
Maybe he and Middleton can go to the same team. 🤷‍♂️

So he is dismissed from a team notorious for looking the other way for questionable behavior, for questionable behavior. I would really like to know who he expects to want him?
I think it’s just a case of these kids - to get to the P5 level - they’ve likely been the best players their whole lives. Been having their asses kissed by coaches and having dreams of being in the NFL. Likely not used to facing adversity. So when they do get to a P5 program and things aren’t handed to them and they’re surrounded by similarly talented players and coaches are coaching and not recruiting- they hit the portal. Some multiple times, clearly.

Sounds like Blades and Middleton are delusional at this point. Unwilling to either accept that they’re not as good as they think they are, or unwilling to put the work in.

Unsubstantiated rumor that Megan Mullen was also in the tunnel. TIFWIW. 😂😂😂
