It was the third day of Fall camp in 2024. Jourdan Thomas was supposed to be a starter in the Tennessee secondary. That day changed the trajectory of Thomas’s career and life.

Thomas tore his ACL/LCL/PCL, his hamstring tore off the bone, and he suffered nerve damage in his leg. It was the final play of his football career.

Since then, Thomas has become a pillar in the Knoxville community and has continued to pour into his teammates as a student assistant. Monday served as a full-circle moment on his journey, becoming the 17th Tennessee football player to be named a Torchbearer, the highest undergraduate honor at the University of Tennessee.

I have had communication with this young man. He has been in the depths as one can imagine and kept going. Great honor for him and emotional presentation.
And another reason I get angry at fans when they say stuff like “players don’t care so why should I.”
100% agree

Man, what a devastating injury. Sometimes we just don't realize the wear and tear on these guys' bodies.
Yeah reading that description was rough. I knew he was out but that's the first time I heard the details

They're talented young men with a long life ahead. This will help him get where he needs to be
