we got some real nancies on this board

Oh, I see, in your mind, being polite, being a gentleman, is about being a wimp. You think tough guys can talk locker room trash anywhere they want. You see this as some sort of tough guy competition.

Okay, I can compare scars with you. Real life ones, not paper cuts that have faded and booboos from childhood. You tell me when and where, I'll meet you.

break/break

Being a gentleman, being polite in polite society, that IS being a tough guy. In the world I was brought up in, anyway. Only losers go creeper.

Well, we've seen "locker room banter" get someone elected President.....

No, and no.

Emphatically, no.

Come on, you two, this is creepy behavior.

There's a line you don't cross. Admire a person for being smart, or beautiful, or witty, or whatever positive trait you choose to concentrate on, that's all fine and perfectly acceptable (except to rabid feminists, sometimes).

But the step from appreciation to expressing a desire to do something about it, that's flat-out creepy.

If your internal values system can't figure this out for you, try this trick: imagine a bunch of guys saying the same about your mom (or dad), or teenage sister (or brother), or grandparent.

If it seems creepy to you then, you can bet it's creepy to those who care about the girl you're talking about that way.

Seriously, when did American parents and community leaders stop teaching these basic values to succeeding generations?

Not everyone seems to get that just because you can say something doesn't mean you should, much less where the cutoff point might be...

Mr. Foster is playing nice now because it has been pointed out to him that it's in his best interest to do so. He attempted a money grab, made an ultimatum and the Smiths called his bluff. Not only can he be countersued, but everything comes out in discovery. If his case wasn't strong, his attorney probably didn't want to work on contingency. It isn't easy money when the other side balks at handing it over.

Yes she is asking for comments to be made. 1. She dresses provocatively 2. She takes pictures while being dressed like this. 3. She takes time to post these pictures to social media for the whole world to see. So yeah she is asking for comments to be made.

Ironic you say this considering the current state of things between college football players and women. The irony being this is a college football forum.

I don't intend to argue with you, my only points are:

1. This logic you're using is the same logic people used to discredit rape victims in the past. Which is why it is so taboo I know you wouldn't say this post to a woman's face who has been sexually harassed.

2. The logic isn't sound anyway. "Two wrongs don't make a right". Poor decisions by one person don't somehow justify poor decisions by others. So if you think making weird sexual comments about a stranger online is not okay, what she is doing is irrelevant.

It isn't a huge deal, but it's funny how many of you act like it's completely normal. I'm part of a handful of forums, this is the only one where the members routinely gawk at attractive young women. It's weird. It's a weird thing to do. On other forums, you make an attractive lightly dressed stranger your avatar, you get mocked mercilessly. Here, completely normal.

Yeah, see that's the problem. You thought of it as a joke among buddies.

Your family probably sees you as a stand-up guy who would never force yourself on a woman. Same with your friends, the guys you might say something like that to casually in a bar.

But there are potentially thousands of people here reading your words and forming an opinion of what you might mean. Practically no one here knows you. Has any clue about your character. As far as any of us know, you could be the guy who uses date rape drugs, or the fellow who follows strangers around in the dark. We don't know you.

And when you're around folks you don't know, that's when social mores are most important. With a decent upbringing, you know that.

The internet doesn't erase social norms, it makes them even more important.

So do yourself and all of us a big favor, and just behave as a gentlemen in very public places...like web forums where thousands of people get together to read what each other write.

I was mocking those that comment on his gf all the time. It went over your head, and that's ok. Don't tell me what is acceptable for me to post. Either put me on ignore or go outside and interact with the real world and get someone to pull that giant stick out of your butt while you're out there.

OK, two guys make a passing joke about how beautiful Smith's GF is. Mildly funny, if perhaps slightly sexist. Did they make posts as long as yours with it? No.

Was that a call for you to jump up on a tree stump and make like Jim Bakker? It isn't as effective unless you got a spray painted woman with tear filled eyes and a cat that ate the canary grin standing next to you.

It was a joke and it was just words. This isn't rape, nobody is defending rape. If someone can't handle some things being said, then they need to keep their private lives, more private.

I, for one, am shocked, appalled, and extremely offended that someone on the internet would ever imply they want to have sexual relations with an attractive college girl.

What is the world coming to that someone would ever make such a implication! It never would have happened 30-40 years ago. Of that we can all be certain!
