You missed the point. The market price is what a buyer (a collective in this case) and a seller (the player) agree to. It is irrelevant how good the player ends up being; that is the market.

You said that there was no market when you don't know how they'll perform - yes there is. NIL for college athletes is akin to the market for venture capital.
