Eh, probably not worth discussing. It's just a crazy world where entertainers are paid such ridiculous amounts of money. I know the economics of it all, and I know this particular contract is a drop in the bucket compared to many others, but things are just out of whack in general. You’re not wrong but what makes you say that?
Merit and the Market are two different things, unfortunately. About the best we can hope for is a political/economic system that’s laissez-faire enough to avoid government controlling the money on the one hand and social democratic enough to avoid money controlling government on the other, both of which result in oligarchy. We aren’t doing so great at threading that needle right now, but it could be worse.Eh, probably not worth discussing. I don’t disagree but it’s bc of people like me and you that watch sports that cause them to be paid so muchEh, probably not worth discussing. Well if millions of people tuned in to watch teachers and social workers and whatnot do their jobs, then they would get paid the same. Idk what you would suggest be done with all the money, but I doubt it would be a better solution.Eh, probably not worth discussing. Crazy to say in this day and age, that $36,000,000.00 doesnt sound like THAT much money. Relative to other sports contracts. Specifically baseball players who make in the hundreds of millions, is dumb.Should have held out for more money. jmho
