Josh McNeil most likely out

every team in America has pre-season injuries.

truth. UGA suffered some injuries last year if i recall. however, we arent exactly filled with quality or proven depth. we cant afford to lose anyone else, especially not season ending injuries. we arent some national powerhouse that can just reload its starters with equal or better talent (except for maybe WR. i would say the talent we have there is greater than or equal to what we had before the 09 class).

wow. this really sucks. although he never did really live up to his hype, i always thought he was a decent lineman for us.

Stuff I read made it sound like McNeil got a wake-up call in the off season and had started working harder with a new attitude. I am more troubled by the McNeil loss than the temporary loss of the receivers (which gives more p.t. to the younger guys in the first 2 non-conference games).

If he can get a sixth year of eligibility and come back for us in 2010, then some good could come about this. There is no doubt that we are going to be hurting on the OL bad in 2010, if McNeil is able to come back then that would help out a lot. I don't think that Sullins will be so much of a drop-off for us this year with how competitive the competition for center has been.

Cody Sullins will get the job done. His twin brother Cory was moved to backup center on Monday. Cory is also 2nd team at guard. They may be former walk on's but both are on scholarship now.

I hope he's been eating his biscuits. Everyone has him listed at 260.

Isnt McNeil ranked in the top 5 for centers this year? Couldnt he just redshirt and come back? If not would he just go to the NFL?

He's not even the #1 center on the team when he's healthy.

And supposedly he has some degenerative knee condition. If he probably ever wants to walk again without some sort of major limp, he won't play.
