Josh Malone's decision to enter the NFL draft...

Not really trouble. Just sounds like a arrogant and bad teammate beating down a freshman QB who basically wasn't worth his time.

I don't see how this is trouble or bad mouthing a teammate. What I read was he had a good year, he lost his QB in Dobbs. Does not see him getting more touches in 2017 due to inexperienced QBs so he left. Feels as if he is as talented as the top WRs around him in the combine, just UT did not get him the ball as much as the others, felt this gave him his best chance. Nothing wrong with that from what I read.

Some of y'all need to work on your reading comprehension skills. What Malone said was not a knock against Dormady, Guarantano, or Jones. The fact is, we're breaking in a new QB. Malone has been there and done that. He had a break out year, and the timing was right. I don't blame him one bit for leaving early.

I don't hold it against him but I think personally he made a mistake by not coming back. His really didn't start coming on until this year, I have heard nfl people on the zone and almost all of them say he would have been better served by staying another year and refining his game. He will get drafted but it's not going to be in a early round mark it down, I've seen this song and dance a million times. I do think he will end up being a good pro and things will work out though. GBO!

How many of our guys have waited an extra year to enter the draft, only to get injured, and hurt their draft stock? We've had quite a few. Can't blame him for leaving after a good season.

That said, I do think he could've improved his draft position with a very good 2017 campaign. He had more to gain than many. Still ... as a football player, you know it's only a matter of time before you get injured.

I think Josh could end up a very productive NFL wideout

He's got every skill on the tool belt just needs to combine it all

People are just mad cause they secretly want to believe there is a QB on the roster much better than Dobbs. When the reality is no. Even though I like JG's potential, its still gonna take him a while to get to where Dobbs was as a senior.

As much as some don't wanna believe it. We're gonna miss Josh Dobbs.

I would have went too if I was Malone. He had a good year, finally IMO lived up to his 5 star hype. He may not go in the first 3 rounds but he will be a great pick up in the later rounds. Good chance his production would have went down this year, he done right thing. Hope he does well at the next level.

And you'll continue to downplay any new QB because you're a racist as you've shown time and time again in the politics forum. Everything from you has to do with skin color and not with ability.

We have plenty of young WR talent to work with. They just need to be developed. Next man up.

Maybe, just maybe they will have a better "team" altitude and do all of things required of a receiver in this system. Not just run out and catch the ball. Not just Malone, but it seems to me downfield blocking by receivers in this system is a must. Don't see much that of that to impress me right now.

Much ado about nothing. He gave the same solid reasons that most gave/assumed when he announced he was declaring. His best opportunity given all the factors is now, he did the right thing imo.

I honestly would feel kinda bad for Josh if he ended up getting drafted by the Bears and had to continue to be "developed" the Azzanni way

Explain this to me. Why are you knocking azzani? Did Malone not get better every year? Did he not develop into one of the best receivers in the sec by his junior year? Did azzani not develop a converted qb to the wr position with ease? Those are just 2 examples but it blows my mind why azzani gets bashed around here

And that type of scenario could happen, that's why if I was a receiver I would want to be polished enough to overcome that. JMHO. GBO!!!!!!

I think he's better off now then waiting another year. How many great WRs do you remember being early round picks after they had a new QB, with a new OC and a new WR coach?

This system does not utilize WRs talents like other systems and you throw in all these new pieces and he would've not been likely to even been invited to the combine. Unless Scott gets in Butch's ear and opens up the passing game more, there was no way Malone was going to top this year.

To be honest, I just don't think he's ready to be a NFL Wr right now. Hopefully I will be eating crow in the near future!

Peerless Price is the only one I can think of
