So would that mean we might need one more WR in this class?

Malone is definitely exploring, and I think there’s a better chance of him leaving than most seem to be thinking right now.

Good luck to him if he goes.

2nd volnation victim of the day.

Malone has come on good this year, but I dont think he is nfl ready just yet. But good luck to him whatever he decides.

He reminds me of Meacham. Needs senior year and will
most likely flourish. It is easy to point out how going early has not worked wel. for quite a few recently from UT.

Take a hard look at where Marquez North is young man. Malone has undoubtedly had a better year this year than North ever had and has been less injury stricken. But if he gets a mid round draft grade stay in school, get your degree, potentially increase your stock next year and minimize the risk of going into the draft without other options.

He is rated #17 for 2018 WRs...but if he goes this year, I think he will go 3-4th round...he has proven he can play against the best CBs in college and he has the speed and height that NFL teams want

College DBs don't know how to turn their heads so...

To me the WR that sticks out is Jennings. Not trying to dimish the play of Malone, as he certainly had a good season. I dont think there are alot of NFL caliber dbs in the SEC and when I think game changing wr for Tennessee, I think Jennings.
But Malone would ve crazy to not at least see where he might grade.out.

I think Malone looks at this seriously like Kamara last year and ultimately comes back.

He will play himself into the 1st round in the 2018 draft after a strong season next year.

Not a lot of NFL caliber DB's in the SEC? Have you looked at any NFL rosters recently?

Indeed. Sure hope he hangs around though. Without him, our returning WR depth is beyond paltry. Only Jennings had more than 15 catches.....Jennings 34, Byrd 15, Smith 11, Brandon Johnson 7, George and Callaway 1 each.

At the end of the day, I think Malone comes back because his draft grade will be too low. Needs another solid year imo. Of course, breaking in a new qb could have some bearing on his decision. Just hope he doesn't make a impetuous decision like North and winds up undrafted.

Not a good choice IMO. Not sure he really scares anyone in the SEC

Huh? Second in yards per catch (18.5) and TD catches (10), 5th in yards (852) this year among SEC WRs. He was our leading WR in all categories and it wasn't particularly close. 6'3 with very good speed/ability to stretch the field. Legit deep threat. Needs another year to develop some more toughness fighting for the ball, but he surely scared opposing DCs this year.

If I was reasonably certain I'd be drafted I'd go and not think twice. Too much risk staying. I support Malone 100% whatever he decides. He's really grown up in 3 years and has become one of my favorites.

Like a less explosive hunter, but tougher.
