May mean absolutely nothing, but...

The man looks rested and confident. Doesn't have bags under his eyes, doesn't have a haunted or hunted look about him, doesn't have the appearance of a person who has been losing sleep or pulling his hair out in worry.

And that's potentially a very good sign.

Because (a) recruiting scandal and possible sanctions, or (b) bad team chemistry associated with all the roster departures over the past six months, either or both of those two things could be bubbling in a bad way beyond our notice. But if they were, you'd think the coach would look more like he's been suffering some worry.

He's looking really self-assured and relaxed.

I think we're gonna be okay.

Nothing concrete, nothing you can hang a hat on, but it's a good sign for a program that's been through as much as we have this past year, to have a coach that comfortable in his position.

Go Vols!

Thanks, Freak, for bringing this press conference to our attention, and GTBATV, for putting up the video!

I like that he didn't dodge any of the questions or exhibit any hesitation or defensiveness. That suggests to me that 1) he is extremely well-prepared, 2) he is confident in the decisions he's made as head coach, and 3) he appreciates the fan base and our interest in keeping current with what's happening inside the program (he said that explicitly at some point during the press conference).

The deck's stacked against him, but I'm glad he wants to be here, and I think he may be the one to turn things around. If nothing else, he's easily our most likeable coach since at least Fulmer and perhaps since Majors.

Translation:. "Huepel is lazy, unconcerned, and hasn't been putting the work in."
