Why doesn't Dobbs get any blame? He's the best fit for our offense because of his legs, but he's a below average passer. Sure he looks great against The no names we beat. He has yet to win a big game. Mizzou dominated him like ou did for most of the game. When we needed a big play he was nowhere to be found. Blame play calling all you want but your qb has to make big plays in big games. Looks very average to me. Just my opinion of course but I don't see the hype with this guy. Ou is just one game and he has all year to progress but I don't see him being able to beat any of the big boys on a big stage.

Have you read any of the threads on here? I think he's been called out numerous times.

His down field passing could use some work, but I don't remember people calling him out when he passed and then ran for a TD.

He was NOT the problem Saturday. The problem was on the sidelines.

When you're running for your life it's tough to go through your progressions. And the fact that your WRs aren't helping out too much is a recipe for disaster.

If you remember, he pretty much won the game at SC last year all by himself. Right now he is being hamstrung by atrocious game planning and play calling. He isn't the problem, trust me.

Yeah I've seen a few but the coaches are taking most of the heat. I agree the game was coached/managed poorly but I saw Dobbs miss a lot of easy throws and become very hesitant as the game got closer. I'm worried we hyped him up so much cause compared to Worley he looked like a heismen qb. I'm afraid teams are going to stack the box the rest of the way and say Dobbs beat us and I'm not sure he can with his arm. Our line and receivers look average also but Dobbs doesn't seem to make big plays on the big stage when we need it. On the bright side we have studs coming in behind him and might have a sleeper as our 2nd stringer.

By chance, did you watch the South Carolina game from last season?

Dobbs is fine. The coaches just have to give him a chance to throw the ball over 10-15 yards. He can throw the ball, but he's gotta be given the opportunity to to make big plays

He had a big 4th quarter no doubt but he always plays good against bad teams like sc, ky, Iowa, bg. I don't think he's the problem, I just think he's not as good as our fan base has hyped him up to be. Would love to see him shut me up and kill Florida but that D is always hard to score on.

This is exactly what is going to happen until we can throw the ball.

It's a team game. Blame the team or pile on the coaches with everyone else, but please don't blame a single 20 year old.

It really cracks me up that all offseason I was much lower on Dobbs than pretty much every poster on Volnation and now I'm higher in him than most.

Saturday didn't teach us anything new about Dobbs. He's never been a gunslinger. He doesn't have an NFL arm. He won't single-handedly beat the competition by throwing darts.

But that doesn't change the fact that he's still probably our best bet at QB right now. Most QBs would have been sacked 5-6 more times than he was Saturday. He's able to turn sacks into gains of a few yards or even first downs often enough to help keep us on the field. That's a huge factor in his favor with how bad our OL is.

I still think he can be an effective QB for us though as long as he avoids turnovers. He's just never going to be the Heisman winner that many around here thought he would be.

The terrible South Carolina team from last year? That managed the game worse than we did against ou? I'm not doubting Dobbs ability to beat bad teams I'm doubting his ability to show up in big games and beat GOOD teams with his arm. That's fair in my opinion

When exactly did Jones give him the chance to win the game for UT on Saturday prior to the OT?

I know some of you guys are desperate to shield Jones of any and all blame... but Dobbs doesn't get to call the plays or decide how the game will be played.

Dobbs has never been accurate throwing the ball down the field. Looking at stays against awful USCe and Iowa teams is laughable and shows how delusional so much of this fan base is.

We've still got huge issues with pass protection. I can count on one hand the number of times Dobbs was able to stand in a pocket and actually scan the field. He's never going to pick a defense apart with his arm, but he's not getting a lot of help.

The issue that hold this team back in the OL period. Look for Jones to fire Majoney to save his own bacon

Isnt that what he should do?

And what does butch coach exactly?
Special teams?
TE?
Linebackers?????

Just wondering
