Jordan Walker returning for one More Year

So happy to hear this! Love her so much. I know we all hope for the "elite" true PG but I feel like she will be a huge contributor in whatever role she steps into.

This says to me that the bond on this team and with KJH is not just myth-making. They do genuinely seem to have something special. Considering where they were 4 yrs ago, this is a major coaching accomplishment.

I'm guessing the timing of her announcement is to explain why she will not be participating in Sr Day, no Fulky do over Sr. Day for Jo. Dang I wish Keyan had been this lucky.

Man, all this good news is making me nervous . . .

Jordan just post on Twitter that she is returning for one more year! That's awesome news!! Do you think this deters Jasmine Powell or no? Thoughts.

Deters Powell ? Most players realize that starters don’t play most of any game ! You need 8 to 11 or 12 players to compete at higher levels now a days ! And sometimes the substitute will play more than a starter ! Sometimes you need all ball handlers in the game to help with pressure defenses! And then there are injuries…. If she wants to be a part of a winning program? I don’t think this deters her in the least . Especially if Jackson is coming? Time will tell . 🤷‍♂️

Thought y’all said she had no more eligibility?
Don't think so. We knew JW had the covid year option. It's Keyan that the clock ran out on.

There was speculation that JW would not use her extra year bc she is already a grad student and reportedly has a job waiting for her. Apparently she loves being part of the program more, and good for her. Got the rest of her life to work and make money.

This is big.. she’s not the main issue with this team at all it was just injuries this year. But another year of development by this staff and she could be a second round pick after next season, especially if we get Jackson. Jojo has shown she has talent and grit…I love this for her and us.

It’s a wild prayer but I hope Rae chooses to return, otherwise I have a feeling her rookie season will be similar to Rennia’s based on where she is right now. She could rest/train during the summer; cash in on some NIL deals, and come back healthy and have a dope season and really be solidly in the first round.

You might be right because some new mock drafts have come out and Rae isn't in the first round like she was before

Cool. And if Kellie does her job this offseason, she will be a depth player and not a starter next year...

Great news. Walker has improved substantially since last year, and look forward to seeing her further development. Her "dribbling issues" is only against elite fast guards, and the team as a whole will need to go to the passing approach to break the press rather than just work on dribbling better. Exciting news!!!

I doubt it deters Powell at all and most likely helps bring her here. Powell was recruited by Western Michigan University while Jordan was the leading scorer there. She probably knows Jordan from the recruiting process a couple of years back and when looking at a potential school away from home, it may be comforting to know a person or two when you get there. Also, it would give us 2 true points guards with Miles and Powell. Jordan walker had not played the point positions since high school and mostly played the two-guard at western while there and moved to the point position out of necessity when she came to Tennessee.
