Could injured All-American cornerback Cam Sutton really return to action this season? Possibly, according to Tennessee head coach Butch Jones on Wednesday.

...“Right now, it’s up to the body,” Jones said. “We’re anticipating that there is a possibility he may be able to get back for the last couple games of the year. It’s all on how (his ankle) heals.”

Jones later added Sutton is “working very, very hard to get himself back.”

I'd be fine with this. But Sutton will probably play if he's healthy. Just the kind of guy he is.

If we have the East locked up early and a playoff spot is on the line with an SEC Championship, he'll play, bank on that.

I don't think he came back for his senior season just to sit out on our playoff run.

He's my favorite Vol. I feel so bad that he came back to try for a championship then lost his season before SEC play even started. There's no way this season will make him get drafted higher. It can only cause him to fall further in the draft. Sure he's got plenty of film but teams will be unsure of his ankle and there's lots of corners to choose from.

If he try's to push it and get on the field asap will he even be more effective than his backup?

Just think about the fact that Kamara (who I love) takes a back seat to Sutton on punt returns...

From what I remember, the mechanism looked like it could have been a Lisfranc injury. But, most of the reports look to say an ankle fracture.
