Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton left the Georgia Dome in an ambulance following the Vols' loss to Virginia Tech on Thursday night in the Chuck-fil-A Bowl at Atlanta.

Crompton exhibited concussion-like symptoms in the locker room after the game and was a taken to an area hospital for further testing, according to Crompton’s mother, Janet Crompton.

He got slammed pretty hard on the last play of the game. I really hate it for him... to out like that after all he's been and fought through.

Best wishes, Jon, from most UT fans.

Very unfortunate. Hope he's okay... he had a good game.

It would've been nice if the OL decided to show up.

Hope he is okay! It's a wonder the whole team didn't have to go after the beat down they got tonight.

That last hit of the game looked pretty rough- hopefully he can shake those cobwebs out and ready for the combine.
Thanks for all the hard work Crompton (and all other '09 seniors), may 2010 and beyond bring you success in whatever endeavor you undertake.

Yeah, pretty class act by Va Tech to blitz on the last three plays of the game when they are up by three scores...Va Tech's D Coordinator was a jerk

They didn't want to give up a score. Nebraska did the same thing.

Can't really blame them. Kiffin isn't exactly the kind of coach that would extend a olive branch either.

Can't believe that several people on here are blaming the loss on him and telling him good riddance.

Hope he's OK. He'll be in my prayers.

We were calling timeouts on the last drive and trying to put the ball in the end zone through the passing game. From their point of view, I don't blame them. If we're gonna play til the last whistle, they should too.

I hope Crompton is okay. He played a great game in my books. Receivers and the O-line just didn't make plays for him.

He and Hardesty looked to be the only ones on the offense that were laying it all out on every play and it seemed like they were getting very little help when doing so.

Poor blocking. Dropped passes. Poor routes. Feel sorry that after all the crap both have gone through to go out like that.

40 yards for Hardesty and a concussion on the last play from Crompton. Seriously. I feel sorry for those guys.

VT couldn't have blitzed if UT had taken a knee with 50 seconds left, being down by three scores. And our QB wouldn't be in the hospital!

I do too, but apparently some people on here can't get over it. It's pretty sick that a few have bashed him tonight when he was one of the bright spots in tonights game. He also was one of the only ones who showed up for the Ole Miss game too. Somebody needs to remind BJ get off his computer because UTC's record wasn't all that great either.

He's remained pretty stoic his entire career but his eyes were completely sunken in at the end of the game.

He looked beaten and broken.

I'm not a gushy person, but that was pretty damned sad to me. Then I come on VN and see some of the baseless vitriol on here... it's disgusting.

It's sad when a USCe fan has more class and tact than some "UT fans"... even when he's trolling.
