Johnny Majors and James Berry To Be The Tennessee "Legends"...

Interesting - James Berry's claim to fame is more the source of Eric Berry than any accomplishments on the field (he played while I was a student and frankly he didn't see the field much). I guess that's good enough for legendary status.

That's interesting; the son is watching daddy getting the honor, and two other sons are watching too......

he played in most games during his career, lettered 4 yrs and was a team captain. UT's leading rusher for 2 seasons (80, 81) and #19 on the all-time list. He had a better career than you're giving him credit for

I agree. He put up respectable numbers on some absolutely mediocre teams.

Do you just make stuff up? I actually think that the guy was a pretty strong player when at UT. Not saying that having Eric Berry here and his two little brothers as top prospects didn't help him getting this, but it's not like he was a scrub.

I guess it appears I did. But no, just an old fading memory situation. Normally I check facts before I post but I got lazy this morning. And using the Griffith defense - I was gone for his last two years.

My apologies to the Volnation empire.

Agreed. Eric berry is great but people need to understand that UT football is more than 3 years old.

I heard for the WKU game they're honoring Dwayne Goodrich, Raymond Henderson, Corey Campbell, Lamarcus Coker, and Travis Henry at midfield during halftime.

Alabama won the National Championship that year. Losing to them in '92 had nothing to do with Majors being fired.

Beating them would have prevented it... losing to them from 1986 to 1992, particularly in the manner that it generally happened certainly put the bullet in the chamber.

maybe i should've said, "collectively" those were the final straws. esp the fashion in which we lost them, and the fact we were 5-0 when he came back from his surgery.

Totally agree! Excellent facts to boot.
