I have to go Johnny Cash here. The guy transcends genres. I don't know ANYBODY who dislikes Johnny. I know some who couldn't care less for Dylan.

Snoop Doggy Dogg or whatever he calls himself now said Johnny Cash was one of his inspirations in an interview one time, and I'm serious. Bet ya wouldn't have thought that in a million years.

early in my trucking career, I heard Johnny Cash on the CB, he was in his tour bus and was talking to truck drivers as he was traveling down the road. I didn't get a chance to chat, but it was a cool experience nonetheless.

I joke that regardless of who you seed a Pandora station with, from Elvis to Outkast to Bob Marley to Miles Davis, if you listen long enough a Johnny Cash song will play.

The man in black, and I dont mean Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, is and will always be the better musical icon. Next topic please.

To each his own I suppose but Dylan wrote much more meaningful lyrics compared to Cash.

You would be correct. It works for some songs and ruins others IMO.

I figured that would be it. I think his voice is what makes him unique.
