Idk if I could take Haywood and Wooden passing in the same week. Best of luck to him in the hospital.

i know it's bad to speak ill of the dead or nearly dead, but i want to puke everytime i hear one of these glowing reviews about that cheater. anyone that allowed his players and recruits to be paid thousands of $$$ each to play for UCLA is not a "great man." it's no coincidence that wooden recruited like crap before gilbert got heavily involved in the program.

It's a fair statement. A business man who engaged in the same practices wouldn't be considered off limits to criticism while on his death bed, dunno why Wooden should

Imagine the statements if Cal was lying on his deathbed.

Droski nailed most of what I had to say, though refrained from doing so. Today, I don't feel so bad saying it. ESPN just reported that he is not dead and is resting comfortably in the hospital.

you don't buy all the stories about reteaching players to tie their shoes the first day of every new season and going over fundamentals as the strength of the program.

Everyone knows the sky hook is a fundamental shot.

Good thing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had Wooden to teach him basketball.
