Yes, John Shoop, Bob Shoop's brother. There is a good article by Mike Strange; see the link below. John was the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Purdue the past two seasons. This is where Florida's quarterback, Appleby, has gone the last 2 years.
John left in December, but hopefully can provide his brother the inside track on scouting, at least according to this article.

"My brother gave him a tremendous compliment,’’ Shoop said. "He compared him to (Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback) Ben Roethlisberger in the pocket. Big, strong kid. He’s got people hanging on his body and he can throw the ball.

I see the Tennessean is still on top of things:

They faced each other only once, in 2010. Bob was defensive coordinator at William & Mary, Bob the offensive coordinator at North Carolina. The Tar Heels won 21-17.

Josh Rosen wasn't intimidated either and hes by all accounts the next great QB. It doesent mean he will play well or played well. I think he will benefit from have Mac around though. They'll put in a system to get it out quick and in space leaning heavily on the D.

I don't expect them to score a lot of points. I don't like the Tennessee predictions either given that most are about 20 points. Unless the O comes out completely different then there is no way he sniff 20.

That said everything gets thrown out when Tennessee and Florida. Its gonna be a war and knock down drag out war. Hopefully Tennessee wins this one.

Kind of reassuring actually. I would much rather us think he's a world beater and prepare appropriately than underestimate him.

hm. on the one hand, i like it.

on the other, i just feel like we're reaching, at this point, for anything that looks like any semblance of an advantage in this game.

I like how Shoop talks @ how good he is. Frankly he has to have + qualities to start this game. We will be prepared for those.

That being said, anyone is crazy if they don't think the Shoop brothers giggled on the phone @ the distinct weaknesses that make this player not see the field at freaking Purdue! Shoop is licking his chops.
