I'm a NegaVol, I want to be better than 2nd & 3rd place in the east.i also want to stop giving away games we should win but... John Kelly is a breath of hope. This young man's smile & attitude is why I love the Vols. I was so impressed with him in the latest press conference that I'm now a huge fan of his. Go Vols. Beat Vandy .

Someone who plays with that much determination... Hard not to love. Sometimes there's a big difference in guys that have to earn and fight for what they want and guys who've been handed things.

I have been a John Kelly fan ever since I saw him playing in so-called "garbage time time" (I'm sorry, can't remember the game. I have "Old-timers disease). His performance revealed a hard-charging, well- balanced, north to south runner that has the balance of a ballerina. I wouldn't be surprised if his skill shook up the running back staff. Some could take it - others could not. Yep, John Kelly is the future! And what a personal presence. I always think of how proud these parents are of their kids. John Kelly's parents did a wonderful job with him.

Most set up there and act like it's a death penalty to be asked questions. Not John,he smiled, laughed and was just happy to be here.

Perfect example of coaches evaluation trumps recruiting experts.

While in most cases I agree with this statement, IIRC only reason he didn't get bumped to 4* was because of injury. It was more of taking a chance that he would be able to return. A bet that is paying off for Butch.
