Analysis | How does Tennessees suspension of John Currie affect Mike Leach and WSUs athletic-director search? | The Seattle Times
This article really does a good job of connecting the dots. I really think Currie was trying to do the best with what he had to work with. The populist wave only exacerbated a very big problem. The well was poisoned long before John Currie ever stepped in the door. Phil Fulmer was part of what created the monster years ago and it will soon be compounded. The only thing Mike Leach wanted was an AD and it looks like he found one. Currie is going to walk away from this smelling like a rose in every state but TN. Good luck ladies and gents...
If Currie looks like a rose anywhere, then they know absolutely nothing. You dont hire a man that 98% of everyone doesnt want, and possibly have to pay him something even though he will never even step foot on campus. Then start actually interviewing good coaches, but not actually be able to sign them. This makes him look even more incompetent than he was before hiring Schiano. I wouldnt let this moron run a car wash, much less an athletic department. As far as the very few that supported Schiano, lets see how that works out waiting for him to get interviewed and hired by another school.
