"Question: How much worse could it be?"

Once again proving that even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.

i've not said this very many times in regards to John Adams, but this one is pretty much spot on.

UT hasn’t come close to beating Alabama or Florida the last two years. It probably won’t come close next year, either.
What are Kiffin and his guys supposed to do until they close the talent gap? Curl into a fetal position and hope Nick Saban and Meyer sympathetically resist the urge to kick the Vols while they’re down?
:eek:lol: i whole heartidly agree with this.
But you have to consider the context. Kiffin didn’t call a press conference to accuse Meyer of cheating. He was playing to the crowd, just as he was playing to the crowd when he ribbed Saban. He was talking to boosters, not NCAA investigators.
:birgits_giggle: yeah, that was a shot at someone.

i think Adams just peruses VN and then writes his columns.

That column should be required reading for the remaining Fulmer sympathizers and the "Please Don't Make Florida Mad" crowd. However, since the literacy rate among those two groups is probably around 20%, they'll have to hold a meeting and appoint a leader to read it to the masses.

I think Kiffin pulled the greatest PR stunt Ive ever seen in calling out the reigning "King" of the SEC and serving notice! Sure he apoligized after smacking Herban in the mouth...I imagine he had the one finger salute under the podium...and a sly wink, when he said "sorry".

no doubt about it....this was the best article Adams has written in a long time. He was on the money with every point.

The article expresses my sentiments exactly. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we hired a coach to ask UF to "please take it easy on us". If they get their feathers a little ruffled, big deal. They will probably beat us this year. Again. But I will bet dollars to donuts that they know they were in a SEC game, and that nobody they were lined up against quit. I always said that I would be glad when Bama got back to the top tier again, it wasn't any fun beating them when they were down (well, it was a little bit) :) But nowhere near the feeling of kicking their pompous azz along with that bunch of crybabies down in Gainesville. I know, maybe not this year. Maybe not next year. But their time is coming. Just like my Grandpa told me, " there's no shame in getting your tail whipped in a fight, the shame comes in not getting up and returning te favor. No matter how many times you have to get back up" The sounds we are hearing from UF and Bama are being made because they have an uneasy feeling that we have just gotton back up!

Then they would have to look at the tape afterwords.

Maybe one of us could just recite it on tape and push play for them.
