that has not been determined. That case, which Joey dropped out of, is still in progress and no decision made. Pavia got an injunction allowing him to play in 2025 but that was not a decision on JUCO eligibility. The NCAA granted a waiver for 2025 for any college player that finished eligibility in 2024 and part of that was counted as JUCO, then they could play in 2025 if they wanted to. That is how Aguilar, Thomas and Kitselman got to play for the Vols in 2025.Someone explain something for me, if the precedent was set that JUCO doesn’t count for your eligibility and Aguilar played 2 years at Appy St and one year at UT why isn’t this a slam dunk for a 4th year?
I'm not a lawyer, but it seems that in similar cases the plaintiff can legally ship for a friendly judge, get a TRO and a preliminary injunction in their favor, then the judge refuses. That gives time for a new judge to be appointed, and legal motions to drag things out while the plaintiff gets what they want without having to go to trial. One might think so.
Since we have little chance of getting anything better than what we already have, I suppose Heupel has no other choice. He's gonna wait on Aguilar and pray for the best. Hey, that's what Spanky does. He's never proactive. Always reactive....after lunch....and a nap.
The Vols would be so much further along if only @CAVPUT were in charge
It's the level-headed, intelligent, non-emotional, and easy to understand posts by you that make it worth wading through the morass of pigs**t-headed junk that one has to sift through pages of around here just to find the rare kernel of truth.that has not been determined. JUCO counting as part of 4 years playing college football has not been eliminated by a court or the NCAA.
What can we do, drop the ban hammer on the **** posters? I'd be fine with it, but the site would probably lose a lot of revenue. (sigh)...sometimes it's tough being a Vol fan...
Yep. And sad to see. Back when all of this started - late 90s, the boards weren’t monitized, and the discourse was incredibly civil. If someone acted like a jerk, they were gone immediately. Preserving the integrity of the information posted was paramount, and polite behavior - the same as you would display in person when talking to someone was expected by all. There were never topics posted designed to denigrate. Now, because the more posts the better for the site owners, we are stuck with this. What can we do, drop the ban hammer on the **** posters? I'll also add that, should the Pavia case that Aguilar dropped out of be adjudicated in the Plaintiffs' favor, it would almost certainly still benefit Aguilar, even though he's removed himself as a Plaintiff. Aguilar, and any similarly situated players, would apply for and likely be granted a waiver as a result of a favorable ruling in that case. Therefore, that case is still available as a "back-up" benefit to Aguilar, regardless of the outcome of the current one pending in Knox County Chancery.that has not been determined.
