Joey Aguilar Hearing Live

Does this mean that Ole Miss will have to forfeit all their games next year? And if JA wins and plays, TN will need to forfeit all the games?

The NCAA is losing this battle big time.

I misread this wrong - the NCAA has to win the suit first.
I'd be shocked if the NCAA did anything other just puff its chest

This judge is being detail oriented, don’t expect a decision to be made until next week. His decision is probably 50/50 at this point. Joey is going for the 2 million which will probably set him for life If he invest properly, and I don’t blame him. So, if the judge feels he has a right to obtain that money he will rule in his favor, if not he will deny. Remember, this case is all about money, nothing else.
The judge already basically said there is reasonable expectation that Aguilar could win the case against ncaa.

Really is just deciding if irreparable damage would be done to his earning potential.

I mean I just don’t see how he doesn’t win the case unless the judge over corrects on trying to not appear biased.

Of course I’m no lawyer but I do believe I could pass the VN bar exam.

Ok we got a SCOTUS ruling on tariffs, can we get on to the Joey ruling today😎
Considering the SCOTUS agreed to hear the tariff case in early November and just ruled today, I'll hope for a little quicker action from Knox County Chancery Court.

Cue: Carly Simon, "Anticipation" and that slow moving ketchup.

How is interpreting a case according to the law magically "high and mighty"?
Oh hush. You were the one acting as if you knew everything and everyone that thought Joey should not get another year was dead wrong and stupid.

Don’t try to change tune now. Your argument was clearly wrong. No need to try to high and mighty now.

Hey man I spoke it into exisitence LOL
About to see if I can do the same with some winning lottery tickets🤣

Its not water under the bridge when it just happened. If we gotta play against people using the loophole, no reason we shouldn't be able to use it too.
There is one hell of a good reason. From the days of General Neyland, U-T has tried to run a program with class and honesty. Occasionally, a Pruett or someone like him, will smear our good name but, most fans would rather see a clean, honest program than 11 wins.

Joey has hung around the football field too long. It's time for him to get a real job and let some High Schooler get his shot.

Unlike that d*ckweed Bammer who ruled in the Pavia case, Chancellor Haegerty made his ruling based on the evidence provided. Since Aguilar's NIL contract was not germane to the arguments made by his counsel, there was a lack of evidence that the State of Tennessee was being financially harmed under the existing NCAA rules or that State Law was being violated.

“Although the Plaintiff has not proffered evidence to demonstrate an effect on the public other than some figures from a decade-old report regarding how much revenue and jobs the University of Tennessee’s football team brings in to Tennessee and to the Knoxville community, the Court notes that it is impossible to determine what effect, if any, the relief sought by the Plaintiff in this civil action could have on the public interest or downstream consumers,” Heagerty wrote in his order.

“For example, the uncertainty regarding the NCAA’s eligibility rules may cause confusion for consumers of NCAA football media which may, in turn, negatively impact the consumers and the public interest. Regardless, the Court notes that the Plaintiff has, as discussed in greater detail above, proffered no evidence to demonstrate that the alleged anticompetitive conduct affects the public interest or how the public, i.e., downstream consumers, would be positively affected if the ‘JUCO’ rule was not enforced. Thus, the Court concludes that this factor neither favors nor disfavors the Plaintiff.”

Should the Appellate judge in the Pavia case follow that line of reasoning, Vanderbilt could conceivably be ordered to vacate all wins in the 2025 season for playing an ineligible player (Pavia.)

(OMG rubs his hands and laughs manically.)

Most fans say that and then want to talk about firing Heupel for going 8-5 after the starting QB left after spring ball.
