You can say this, and I don’t think anyone would argue they aren’t one of the 12 best teams, but if they make it, it will be fair and square based on the rules in place.JMU is 11-1 and will probably win this game but they should not be in the playoffs. That is just a wasted spot taken away from a more deserving team.
Alabama is not the #1 seed in SEC in the playoffs.Alabama is the 1 seed in the SEC, no way they get left out. Unless they lose by 100. They shouldn’t either . They shouldn’t be punished for losing to UGA after already beating them on the road. Notre Dame shouldn’t benefit from being home while UGA and Bama slug it out .
Pretty much your final spot would be something between 10-3 Kennesaw State, 9-4 Western Michigan, 10-3 UNLV, 9-4 Troy, and 8-5 Duke.No one said Duke would get in. The premise of my post was if JMU got upset by Troy, you’d have 3 unranked conference champs for 1 spot. UNLV, Troy, and Duke. In that order.
That may be true, but based on the criteria for sleecting 12 teams, they qualfied. Can't publish the critiera then when a G5 meets it, you deny them (Tulane included) because there are better deserving teams. Ido feel Vandy got shafted at the expense of keeping Bama in, but only because Bama got toasted and completely shut down and dominated in the title game. Otherwise, I'm OK with Bama keeping the spot if they had played well and kept it close.JMU is 11-1 and will probably win this game but they should not be in the playoffs. That is just a wasted spot taken away from a more deserving team.
