I'm with you,210 is a little light. But with Peterson,I've seen him listed by several at over 230.I am interested to know what he actually weighs, but he is a player,no matter his weight!!

I've seen 230 or so, as well.

OK. I'm not trying to troll or be contrary here. But ...

Why is everyone almost universally excited about the impact JJP is going to make THIS year? I know he's a 4*, but we have plenty of those in the 2 deep right now. He's got past teamates here. Our LB situation was atrocious last yr. But ...

What is SO special about JJP that makes him a can't miss recruit?

I'm a little hesitant to annoint him yet too because he'll have some pretty decent guys ahead of him.

But he's the highest rated LB we've signed in a long, long time. He's super athletic and has all the tools to be a great 3 down LB for us. I'm not sure that will translate to taking PT from DK Jr, Bituli, or Sapp in 2018, but if we have an injury or two, he'll probably get a shot.

If all our lbs healthy and he steps in this group could get us past some of our other deficiencies on D. We need depth big time. Also need shut down corners and DL run stoppers, but guess that's another topic

I think most who are saying this, and it includes me, know how poorly our LB has been. I think JJ is probably better than any LB we have besides Bituli.

Truthfully, there's no such thing as a can't miss recruit. I really thought Bates would help us early, seemed to have really good pass coverage skills for a high school LB, had the blood lines too.

But JJ looks "sudden", with a lot of speed, and he hits like you want a LB to hit. I think he's gonna be in the mix as a freshman.

I hope he's taking care of academic biz. Would appreciate an update on that if anyone has heard anything recently.

Sounds good to me. If we can just keep our starters on the field for most the season, it would be huge in this group. I hope this young man gets into the mix from the start.

Thanks for the views on him everyone. Sounds encouraging and rational. We need him and more.

Coaches are expecting him to get lots of PT or even start
He will start or definitely be in heavy rotation. Unfortunately, we're kinda like Vandy...we've got players back, but not sure that's a good thing. When healthy and 100%, we've got some talent there. Pruitt also needs to be able to show how frosh can come in and start or contribute alot, for this year's recruiting cycle.

It will be nice to have someone to push the other LBs for competition. Hopefully if anything it will bring the dog out in Butuli, Sapp, & DK Jr. That LB core has lacked intensity and aggressiveness since Maggitt and AJ left which to me was the heart of the defense. On that note it was nice to see Butuli chewing some @$$ in the O&W game.

I hope he stays healthy. Bringing high schoolers onto the field with SEC opponents has. Not worked out very well for us with regards to injuries. Hoping he will be one of those special players who can take the pounding and give some pounding.

Lol. You’re absolutely trying to be a troll and contrary with this post.

My favorite thing watching his film?

Not the lightning speed sideline to sideline, not the explosive, fundamentally perfect, tackling, not the ability to get in the backfield and cause havoc.

No. It is the simple fact that when a blocker actually gets a body on him, he angrily and quickly defeats that block and comes off of it with speed and separation on his way to the ball carrier.

We have sure been missing that around here.
