Norman Dale was banned from coaching in NCAA and NY high school association, for punching the best palyer he ever had.

lol @ blue chips. I'd want me a new tractor too!

Also, pretty sure the next lines out of the NCAA mouths are

"Okay Tobias...stay, leave...doesn't really matter to us :)"

Norman Dale was a fictional character with little resemblance to the coach on which he was loosely based. You must be thinking of Woody...

Myra Fleener discovered the suspension in a library in Deerlick the night before the town hall meeting to fire Coach Dale. She tells him not to come to the meeting, it won't be pleasant.

I'm aware Hoosiers is loosely based on the Milan High school state title run. I'm also aware the coach at Milan the year before the title run was fired for ordering new uniforms without permission.
