I just heard from a friend that Jimmy Johnson (former Dallas Cowboys and Miami Hurricanes coach) was spotted in Knoxville over the weekend and it’s believed that the Vols are talking to him about possibly becoming the head football coach at UT. It may just be another rumor, but it’s definitely an intriguing one! He has SEC ties (played college football at Arkansas) and is a strong recruiter. It could be a good fit for UT since they obviously are looking to hire a big name.

I heard he was going to coach the defensive line on that Cowher/Kiffin/Steele staff.

I would fireman carry Jimmy, without mussing a single hair on his head, from South Florida to Knoxville if he would agree to the gig.

I heard today that Bud Kilmer was in town for the coaching job.

He won 13 district titles in Texas coaching the Coyotes! He had really good players and 2 notibles were an O-lineman named "BillyBob" and a receiver named "Tweeter"

I would sign up to handle part of the trip, except I'd let him sit on my shoulders and I'd wear a beer hat full of his favorite beverage.

I always spelled it Tweeder in my head. If Kilmer comes he says Miss Davis is gonna work at Last Chance and Moxon may transfer from Brown to play quarterback.

I would crawl across a thousand yards of broken glass and gasoline to hand him a blank check. I will also name my next child after him, boy or girl.

I heard Bear Bryant is interested in the jobs as well. He said he'd bring Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechlar as his offensive and defensive coordinators.
