I read on one of the ND web sites that Jimmy Clausen had given ND a silent commitment and would probably go public sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. Is that true? I thought Cuttcliffe had an inside track with JC. Is the family "pissed" at Fulmer for the way he treated Rick, and would that influence JC's decision? I thought the Clausen family actually liked East Tennessee and admired Fulmer and Cuttcliffe. I guess what I'm asking is the race over for JC and have the Vols given up on him?

He was on campus here for Jr day. Not many Vol fans think he is coming though. As far as him being a silent to ND, even if true would mean less than squat at this point.

its not true. its a rumor that has been spreading like wildfire but most analysts and experts have said it is false. he may end up committing to them, but he hasnt yet.

it holds no ground. Wait for a reliable source to report something. Peoples sources mean squat anymore. I hate my sources now, they got everything all messed up last year....

Silent commitment. Yeah ok.

The fact that it's on a message board seems to blow the "silent" part out fo the water, eh?

If it's even true and all.

Hopefully, this time next year Crompton will have played so well, we wont care where he goes.

If this rumor spreads, and is investigated and turns out to be true then ND is in some big trouble.

God I hope he follows his brothers and becomes a great Vol.

Dude....Nick Stephens has played a total of 1 year of football. I think he's got bust written all over him

why would ND be in big trouble?

If they have sent even one personalized letter to an underclassman than they can be fined, or worse.

We had a high prospect at our school 2 years ago, and he was in the Army/Navy game, but his Junior year he recieved letters from a certain school, and they were fined by NCAA officials.

Fulmer said it was a last minute battle with Michigan to keep him. I think he's about 6'4,205.Plenty of size.

I heard for us to have a chance with JC, Fulmer has to personally escort his sister to her classes for the next year and publicly apologize to RC for being benched last year    . You think we have a shot?

Call me crazy. I'm basing what I'm about to say on what little I've read and just a gut feeling that I'm getting. But I just feel that Fulmer and Co. are going to have to lower themselves in some way to get his commitment and in that case I say to hell with it. No player is worth that.

We had Carnell and Sims committed.

Commitments don't mean much until they put ink to the paper.
