This guy is a defensive genius who got snubbed of a head coach job last year. Any chance that if he gets snubbed by all NFL teams needing a new coach again, he decides to head coach at college level, possibly UT?

So do you think that name would charge up an apathetic fan base and get people excited about making their sizable VASF donations? I don't.

You are absolutely crazy. He is HIGHLY thought of in the NFL coaching community. He will be a head coach next year.
If you are Titans fan, enjoy him for this last year.

I have not heard his name mentioned once this year for any coaching jobs in the NFL.

I watch a lot of ESPN :)

I'm sure if a position opens his name will surely rise. Look at the Falcons Mike smith was a damn good hire for the Falcons. Good nfl Defensive cordinators don't stay DCs very long. Defense wins championships.

It's been mentioned by the local reporters in Nashville that he will get many interviews this offseason. They go on to say that he will land a head coaching job as long as he interviews good.

I liked Greg William's defense better back in 99, butSchwartz has shown he knows his stuff. He is a very good defensive minded coach, and he will be successful. I'm not sure he would be able to recruit and/or translate to the college game though.

Haynesworth, KVB, Bullock, etc. will make Schwartz a great career in the NFL for a year or two.

KVB had 3.5 sacks in 4 years in Arizona.

Bulluck (minus his rookie year) and Haynesworth have played their entire careers under Schwartz.

Don't you think they may have been coached to the elite level they play at?

I like Schwartz, but the Titans defense didn't look so hot until Haynesworth started playing last year, and it really struggled when Haynesworth missed those three games last season.

Jim Schwartz is the beneficiary of some great defensive talent and depth, and a top 3 NFL head coach. Nothing more.

Dominant DTs make any coach look great.

That being said, Schwartz is a fine DC that will be a head coach in the next 3 years.

Funny, I believe that is was in 06 that we didnt have 1 pro bowl defensive player and the Titans had a top defensive team.
