In all honesty, I wish he hadn't said it either. But, if anyone thinks that Meyer doesn't want to pile on EVERY team he plays anyway, you're crazy.

I wish my job was to insult , pass judgement , and deride anyone that ever said anything silly or off target .

Rome doesn't even speak in paragraphs ...he just strings one simple sentence - insult behind the other .

Gosh I wish that was my job .

Your right, but this just gives him more fuel to the fire for our game this year! I really wish this game was being played in Knoxville this year, but oh well.

I don't dislike lane for what he said! I love the intensity that he is bringing into this program! I can't wait for football season to start!

Go Vols!

Jim Rome does us favor by speaking about us. Whether good or bad.

CLK knows that...

I don't care what Jim Rome , UM or NS, or anyone else thinks about what CLK is saying. So it might mean that they try to beat us by 50 instead of being content to beat us by 30. I say go ahead and bring it, because soon the tables are going to turn and we are the ones handing out the beatdowns. I was tired of being dismissed as irrelevant under PF. I would rather have them mad at us. It will make it that much better when we beat their a$$es.

i think kiffin put his foot in his mouth. it was a mistake. hopefully it won't happen again. i am not one who thinks that kiffin is simply doing this for publicity, i think he goofed. please don't say anything else like that again kif...we just want you to win games.

I agree maybe he shouldnt have said it, but there is a fine in the fanbase that has not been here in a long time.
Im sure he wil choose his words more carefully from now on.

I think it's hilarious that anyone is worried that CUM might run the score up. Ya think?!?! It wouldn't be CUM if he didn't try.

It's called football. It's up to each defense to stop the opposing offense. If you're worried that words, from 9 months prior, will determine the outcome of the game then you....well, that's just silly. I have faith that our staff is smart enough to handle their business and I certainly don't believe our players will be thinking about this incident as they get ready to take the field.

Jim Rome got punched out by Jim Everett several years ago for being a complete dumbass anyway... Who cares what he says.

Besides that, why is everybody conceding that Tennessee will lose the Florida game next season anyway... If the Vols go down to Gainesville and come away with the win everybody will be singing Kiffin's praises as if he's the next Knute Rockne...

It amazes me how some people get so scared because of what CLK said.. If you want to go thru life intimidated and scared to take a swing for the top you should hope that PF gets a job in coaching soon. Kiffin is not here to make friends he is here to win NC's and that requires stepping on the toes of the big boys and ruffling some feathers. In case anyone has forgot the past 2 seasons with the approach of fear has gotten us an 0-4 record against Saban & Meyer.

His job is to produce on the field period...To be honest I like he is showing he has balls...That is not a bad thing, but if he runs off at the mouth and this team goes 4-8 or 5-7 it does not work like that...As long as he can back it and there is no one here that knows if he can or not...Time will tell and we can only hope that he can!...I can not wait to see the spring game

What has suprised me most of all is how little room for error the rest of the league is givin Kiffin out of the gate. Seems to me a little latitude is warrented here from the rest of the SEC coaches.

But Rome did say "I live all the way out here in California and I am excited about the game next year, and why should I care"?

That just brings more publicity to the game next year. And these young guys coming out of high school will see what a rivalry that game is, and how intense it is, they will want to be a part of that. Kiffin and this staff are not idiots.

I like Jim Rome. The difference in a guy like Rome and Slimebum is that Rome doesn't take sides.

Kiffin has raised the ratings for the UF v UT game to an all time high.

If UT pulls and upset -- it will be HUGE. Even if we just smack them in the mouth and keep it close, we will get the support of most fans. Everyone wants David to beat Goliath.
