Why does ESPN employee half of the people that they do?

I don't understand how Andre Ware is still a commentator. Yeah he's a Heisman winner and all but he's also a great example as to why being a former player doesn't automatically make a great analyst. Last night in the USF/Tulsa game there was a play on 3rd down where live action from the angle on TV it looked like the USF defender intercepted it but may have not gotten his left foot down. So Ware starts going on about it being a pick. They show a different, close up angle and you can clearly see the USF guy never actually caught the ball, he deflected it out of bounds. After 3 replays and that angle, Ware STILL was like "They aren't even going to take a look? I can't believe that". The play by play guy was too scared to say "It was clearly incomplete idiot".

I saw that too and was screaming at the screen what are you talking about.

Both ESPN and the announcers need to learn that we tune in to watch games and see highlights. We don’t need to be lectured to, screamed at and told irreverent information. They are so busy talking at times that they miss what is going on in the game.

Legends in their own minds?

Maybe this is a better question to ask bamawriter???

Because it doesn’t take a lot of effort to get there. They’ll put anyone on TV because they know no matter what they have their corner of the market and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it. They’re the WWE of the sports world

Their market is shrinking because of their politics. I turn to sports to get away from that stuff.
