Let's say Tennessee's season goes something similar to the way it's first game went. What's the earliest Pruitt would be let go(maybe if we go 1-6/1-7)? Secondly, what would the interim (Chaney or Tee) have to do to keep the job for next season? And finally, if Chaney becomes head coach, he has to bring in Sam Pittman right?

Pittman probably could have come when Chaney did but likes his gig at UGA.

I think we should let it play just a little longer before writing the severance checks.
I agree but this is hypothetical. If chaney is headcoach could he convince Pittman to come. They've been together everywhere else

Pruitt could drop a 0-12 and he will still be the coach for one more year...unless some serious, and I mean SERIOUS, cash money folks show up.
Chances he drops a goose egg are as likely as he goes 11-1.

Just face it folks, like him or not and regardless of record, Pruitt is here one more year.
If he does happen to get a 6-6, possibly 7-6 with a bowl win, that seals the deal for two years.

If you had the best job you’ve ever had, would you take a lesser job knowing the new job would only last 3-5 years? Just because your friend would be your boss?

Ooh good point haha. I think Chaney could be a good coach if he was given time and got somebody to control the defense. Maybe Kevin steele? But regardless, Pittman could probably get the o line job at Alabama if he wanted

Pruit has a minimum of 2 more years and possibly 3 or 4

If you're going to ask a stupid hypothetical question, why one so boring? A career OC getting a second stint as an interim? A good OL coach coming back to help? Really?

Go big. Something like: "How big of a raise does Pruitt get if he goes 2-10 with blowout wins over Florida and Alabama?"

I think we both think that UT is going to take BYU to the shed?

Ok no fire, but if Tennessee loses can he at least bench himself for a week?
