JG Gained 18

Jarrett was so skinny last year that a gust of wind blew him off his feet in one game. Glad he is bulking up.

Funny as hell.

He had a freaking injury for most of that half, that he got during a touchdown run, and you sad sacks want to criticize him for literally giving HIS ALL for Tennessee that day. Sad bunch of "fans" around these parts.

butthurt

Crompton was borderline terrible with Clawson/Fulmer, and then had a pretty successful season when Kiffin and the new coaching staff took over. There's no reason JG can't improve to be more than serviceable in one off season considering there was almost no player development on either side of the ball with Butch around. He's made the huge physical change already, probably also adjusted his attitude too if I had to guess.

I love how there keeps being people defending this supposed "sarcasm" of using injured players as the butt of a crap joke, yet my post has four times the likes of these supposed sarcastic geniuses( the like suggest that more people agree with me, and think that that was a poor attempt at humor, but since I called one of you out for it, you guys get all pissy and try to act like I am the one that doesn't understand. You could make a claim of sarcasm if the op said that JG was such a solid built QB that nothing could bring him down. Then use that video, sure it's poor taste still but then you could actually claim some form of sarcasm. As it stands that post only appears to be critical of the lack of size that JG had last year, and uses a video of an injured jg to verify it, that isn't sarcasm that's creating alternate interpretations of the facts to twist your statements in a poor attempt at humor. Sorry but the only way it can be considered sarcasm is if you just don't really understand what sarcasm actually is.

Maybe thats 4 times the number of people with no sense of humor who take sports they aren't playing a weeee bit too seriously?

I could be wrong who knows..

Until there is a dislike button using the like button as support for a post is one sided.

We’re counting likes as cred now?

When they are trying to make it out as if I am making some huge judgement error, yeah I would say that if more people support my point then that lends it at least a little more cred than just some random misinterpretation.
TL/DR; more people agree with me that he was an insensitive jackass than think I was wrong in calling him out.

I didn’t care enough to vote. FTR I think you’re overreacting. I took it as a joke.

Yeah, he is probably growing in confidence, partly from just getting older and more familiar with college football, but probably also from knowing that he has worked to grow and it is showing results.

That post had no sarcasm what so ever, he claimed jg was so frail that wind could blow him down and used a video of an obviously injured jg falling in pain to finish the half of football he played with a busted ankle. He wasn't being sarcastic, he was trying to be funny while coming off like a jackadd.

Lol

And you can say it until the cows come home and it doesn’t make it so.

Peyton was slow, Casey was slow....JG ain’t slow....he’s just not an elite runner by comparison like the last qb we had in the previous 4 years. Then throw in that he was poorly coached last year and it showed in his hesitation and confusion....he didn’t “play fast”. But it’s factually wrong to say the kid is slow. He broke the pocket several times last year for 5, 6 yard gains. His feet were plenty quick enough when he actually used them, when wasn’t nearly often enough. He’s gonna be doing drills every day to stay quick at 220, just like he did at 200.

Also, who gives an ish?? It was important for him to gain that weight so he could become stronger and more durable so he can take the multitude of hits from every possible angle that are surely coming this year, again, due to a very porous OL. And putting on 18-20 pounds isn’t gonna necessarily gonna make him “slower”. He badly needed the weight....he’s going from skinny to “solid”, not solid to fat.

So, if his 40 time suffers and now he’s a 4.8 guy rather than a 4.7 guy, who the hell cares?? He’s a QB, not a WR, CB or RB. We don’t need him to be a sprinter, especially in the prostyle offense he’s about to be running as our starting qb.

Yes, sir. I rarely agree with u, but u nailed it here. More than likely, the extra weight/muscle won't hurt him. He will never be Dobbs, but he moves well enough to prolong the play and pick up some yards, if he needs to. There will be less arm tackles which could lead to bigger runs. JG is not slow, just not quick with his 1st step, with more muscle comes more explosiveness, which will lead to longer runs or making a yad or 2, when it should have been a loss. But the main thing, he will be able to handle the week after week pounding of SEC football, better. Plus, arms like JG's are rare and more muscle even improves it. I'm hoping and thinking JG takes a huge step in his development, this coming year.
