Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com doesn't think much of Tennessee

On Jerry Palm's Bowl Projections he still has Tennessee playing Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl. I thing an 8-4 Tennessee team will either go to the Belk Bowl(to play North Carolina) or to the Tax Slayer Gator Bowl(to play Northwestern).

I don't know what the pecking order for bowls is but, I think Tennessee is projecting around the 6, 7, or 8 spot (of SEC teams).

Since the East is no longer possible, cheering for Florida to beat Georgia may make sense in terms of potentially gaining a better bowl bid.

But, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, TX A&M, Ole Miss, Miss State potentially can receive better bowl bids

Why do we care? I have no idea who that is.

At this point the bowl game that we get means nothing because it's going to be a crappy bowl.

We NEED to win out and that's all the team should be worried about.

Well, because like you he is pretty ignorant when it comes to blindly looking at a record and not factoring in where they are at compared to where they have been. I'm going be laughing my ass off when guys like you and ole Sticky Palm's change their tune when Tennessee beats up on some lesser teams and finishes the season strong.

This thread is a discussion on bowl placement and projection. Current and future record is the only thing that matters.

That's your opinion. Based on the thread title and the person I was responding to I think the past is applicable. Both parties are looking at UT in a capsule and not analyzing their difficulty in schedule, the manner in which they lost against highly ranked opponents, where 2 of the 3 games where played, and what three of the teams we lost to have done to other teams. Couple that with closing the gap from a year ago by taking OU to double overtime, forcing Bama to beat us on a late 4th quarter score in their stadium, racking up 254 rushing yards against a stingy Florida defense, and beating a UGA team we haven't beat since 2009 and I don't think clowns like Sticky Palms or DCamigo are accurately assessing how good this team is.

And last year does come into play since we started a lot of freshman who are sophomore starters with more freshman starters on this years team. We are a young team taking on squads that have built their program with their current coaches for years. When you take a simplistic view to look at something it just makes you look simple.

Oh that's right, I forgot, my apologies. It's not that you have to actually win the games, ALMOST winning the games is cool too. My bad! This idiot should have UT in the Rose Bowl!
