I saw him play in b'ham when he was with the XFL. Unbelievably they were showing highlights of him and Peyton gashing Bama the last time he played at Legion Field which I was at also.

I knew he was a leading receiver in the CFL, but I didn't realize his numbers were quite that good. Being the # 15 all time receiver in that pass happy league is impressive.

Played against him in the Clinic Bowl, very good athlete and a good career.

I always thought of him as the Chris Carter of the Vols. It seemed like all he caught was touchdowns when he was here.

The guy was one of the greatest all around athletes to ever come from our great state.

When Copeland was a junior he was in a 3-0n-3 basketball tournament in the old city sponsored by Adidas. We finished runner upin our division but Copeland and Peerless Price, Deon Grants team killed the competition in the Top Flight division. Everyone was cheering them on when we didnt have games of our own. My brother in law got Copeland to take a picture with him. Its pretty funny because JC had a cheesy grin. Seems like a good dude. Glad he sustained a long career and didnt have to get a real job like the rest of us. ha

So, you played for Lipscomb?

Actually, a "Great" athlete, that's how I would describe him...Most of us felt he was a better B'Ball player than football...after Harriman lost in the State finals in football(Jermaine got to play two series), they ended up winning State in B'Ball the same year (after his knee healed from the Clinic bowl injury!!!)

When he went out, the game was over. And I agree about him being a great overall athlete.
