I don't think JG has the mental aptitude to get it done and KC lacks the physical abilities. CJP has already told us that Shrout has the best arm in the QB room and I'm willing to bet he's a smart kid who will pick things up quickly. The future is now for Shrout.

Come on. Just because other teams are starting true freshmen QB's does not mean TN is. I don't think Pruitt is a "follow the leader" type of person. He is going to do his own thing on his own terms. And starting a true freshmen quarterback in his inaugural season with a fanbase who has shown itself to be less than patient on some occasions is a recipe for disaster. Shrout wasn't even one of the top QB recruits in the entire country last year. He was a really solid pickup that I am excited about but those expecting him to come in here and make some type of Tua Tagaliova level performance need to take the orange blinders off.

JP has two really solid options in Gurantano/Chryst. It will undoubtedly be one of them this year. With the new redshirt ruling allowing players to participate in a few games and still qualify than it wouldn't surprise me if we see Shrout during garbage time of a blowout win/loss. But that is the only capacity we will see him in this year.

I think he loves Shrout and both gaurantano and Chryst end up sitting the bench. I predict JT Shrout will be our starter by the Florida game and not look back.
I gotta say I’ve seen CJP talk Shrout up, practical experience reps aside. If he sees live reps in the cupcake games between WVU and Florida and does well who knows.
