Jeremy Banks to LB?

Definitely a surprise, but if the kid can't hold onto the ball it may be for the best? I don't know... seems a little early to me. Would like to see him continue working at RB until at least the spring.

The problem with this opinion is that it's uninformed... there could be injuries at LB that we don't know about. Could be than Banks has expressed interest in playing LB. Could be that Pruitt sees him as nothing more than a short yardage back so he wants to explore playing him both ways in order to maximize returns from his scholarship.

Who has been our best LB this year? I haven't watched that closely.

Any chance we see a JJP and Banks on the field at the same time this year?

I would say Bituli. That would make me feel a lot better about the first half against Alabama, as he was out. But the 2nd half wasn't amazing, so it's not like he's even third team SEC right now.

I read it and had to take a double take myself. I think he would excel but loved his energy at Runningback. Maybe Pruitt sees him as one the ones doing it right and wants to reward him.

I noticed LSU has smaller, quicker OLBers on pass rush situations that are very effective vs large OTs. Maybe thats what JP is thinking.

I say leave the kid at RB and let him develop....some of you guys are pouncing on a freshman and expecting NFL results these kids 1st year which is ridiculous....give this kid time to develop.

He gives his all for Tennessee and tries to get every yard he can...one day some of you brag about him and the next day is trash time...

He already has made multiple tackles on Kickoff. He has shown he likes to hit. He is fast. He has the energy. Guys like that excel on defense.

Plus he is one of those guys that will not stop on contact at the line. He is going to run right through you to make a tackle. We have been missing that at the LB position for years.

Edit: If this is true it shows the staff is trying to get their playmakers on the field. (Yes I know he has fumbled, but he is athletic)

Well, I cant say I know all the responsibilities on the variations of Pruitts 3/4 or 4/3 defensive but I know I hardly ever see a linebacker shooting any gaps...especially whoever is playing middle backer...
