I love that coach said it like it needed to be said we are glad to have a dog like you because that's what JJ brings a Junkyard dog mentality. Unless outside forces come into play I see nothing stopping JJ from having a productive pro career. He is one of my favorite Vols ever bar none. he is such a unique player. I cant think of many guys with his skill set ever in college or the NFL.. he has some traits of Hines Ward (mentality), Anquan Bolden (physical traits) even T.O. and the GOAT J.R. (work ethic). Funny enough 3 of those guys were at one point Niners, which has always been my favorite NFL team.Calling EVERYBODY “Coach!”

outside of Helm those are 3 former Vols I really want to get a chance in the NFL I think Kongbo got boned by scheme and regime and injuries, Hurds issues were partially self-inflicted but he's a talented kid that deserves a break. JJ was born 20 years too late for people to appreciate his greatness but I think his skill set will definitely translate into the right system. The one problem is the existence of Kittle. Both JJ and Hurd are kinda WR/TE tweeners with Hurd more on the TE side and JJ more on the WR side. Both have injury histories that go along with their rough and rugged playstyles. Hopefully, that can be mitigated in the NFL. JJ will start off on spec9ial teams and make the team based on that and as a lockerroom fireplug. No matter how much hate you put on him Hurd is supremely talented and a great offensive mind can find a place for him. JJ reminds me of a WR version of Charles Haley which funny enough is the type of role Kongbo could fill on defense. The niners was the team I always saw those guys on.
