Jaylen McCollough Commits to UT

So...I'll be that guy. Excited for the new commit, and glad the class is looking good according to star ratings. But I still remember where I was when Jalen Hurd committed, and I remember thinking "oh man, we've finally got ourselves a guy who is gonna turn it around!" And then Vic Wharton, another 4*, and Elliott and Evan Berry, and Todd Kelly Jr, and Gaulden, and all of these other highly rated players....and well, here we are. I do think that Pruitt is different in many ways that excite me. But I thought Butch was different than Dooley in many ways that excited me.

I'm happy that players are buying into his vision for the program. But goodness, I'm just ready to see what a Jeremy Pruitt team looks like on the field. I am ready for some freaking football.

Having said that; Pruitt is proven as a coach in ways that his recent predecessors were not.

It IS sad BUT we WERE SEC cellar dwellers last season, even Vandy was kicking sand in our faces and boinking our girlfriend. To be 5th in the SEC after that is amazing IMO.

I understand the point you're trying to make but what is missing is the recruiting of Butch Jones did lead to a very good team in 2015. In just his 3rd season, Tennessee had a team that should have gone 10-2 and played for the SEC Championship. I have to say "should have" because his game management blew late leads vs Oklahoma and Florida. Still, you can't act as though we never reaped any benefits from the classes he signed from '13-'15 and some of the players you even mentioned contributed to that.

Not one analyst (that I have found) even gives us a shot against WVU, Fla, or any SEC win until we play Kentucky(and most think we’ll lose that!)
