He is one of the all-time greats at running back for the Vols......and from what I hear, a quality man to boot.

If he can coach backs to run against Bama the way he did then there will be some ESPN highlights from Columbia. He also made Eli Gold look like a fool as Gold stated that Tennessee no longer had the fast running backs and on the next play Jay blew past the entire Alabama defense on a long scamper to the goal. That one was classic.

It's funny how often Graham is overlooked in many of the RB threads. He wasn't as elusive or powerful as some but he wasn't shabby in those depts and as the videos above demonstrate he is one of the purely fastest backs in UT history. The only two I'd risk my money on beating him at 100m would have been Webb and Morgan. (though the latter actually lined up all over the place I'll consider him a RB here)

There are numerous backs at UT who have been faster than Graham. Coker and Creer most recently. Jay Graham and Charlie Garner are my favorite UT backs followed by Reggie Cobb.

Coker would have been in that class but I left him out since...well. I'd put down money on Graham vs Creer any day of the week.

Jeff Powell could be argued but how many snaps did that guy ever take? It's like putting Graddy into the fastest WR pool. I wanted the comparison to be at least somewhat apple to apple.

I know he was a great player but he has moven up the coaching ranks pretty quick, from RB coach at UT Martin year before last to USCeast next year.

Chuck Webb was the best running back to ever play at Tennessee hand down.

Many people leave him out of the top UT running back conversation because of the fact that he did have so many fumbles against Florida.

Matter of fact, some of us call him Jay "fumblefingers" Graham to this day because of it.

Everybody wants to pin Florida losses on Manning but fumblefingers had more to do with them than anybody on the offensive side of the ball.

I think he also cost us breaking the streak with Shuler on a toss sweep an Bama.

Plenty of people remember the fumbles. He was as bad about it as Foster except he only did it against Alabama and Florida.

I agree. Its nice to see a former RB of ours not getting arrested for cocaine, pot, infinite kids (ok you can't get arrested for that one but still).

Are we still talking about Graham? If so I had never heard this about him.*

*Whoops! Sorry, just as I hit send I noticed the "not" part of the statement. And I very much agree.
