This is the same league that can franchise tag players to prevent them from going to free agency, cut players without notice to save on the cap, routinely ask players to restructure contracts to circumvent the cap. After looking at the Jennings situation where he's got a contract and is requesting a new one or a trade, I'm questioning the "Let's get the college players under contract and we'll stop this transfer mess" ideas.
Apparently Jennings may show up to camp, as required, but not really participate. They're calling it a "hold in" not a "hold out." He may be there but he'll not be inclined to participate any more than the bare minimum unless he gets his contract or trade.
Why would anyone think this won't happen with college kids who have contracts?
