Jauan Jennings Wants New Contract

People saying “this is what is wrong with pro ball” are idiots. Dude is in the final year of his contract. All he is asking for is a long term deal and if the 49ers don’t have him in their long term plans then he wants to play for a team that will make that commitment. It’s not like he is 1 year into a multi-year contract threatening to holdout for more money. This is the same league that can franchise tag players to prevent them from going to free agency, cut players without notice to save on the cap, routinely ask players to restructure contracts to circumvent the cap. NFL franchises have all the control but whenever a guy coming up on a contract year wants a new deal he is labeled as “he isn’t honoring his contract.” That’s gold 🤣
And if he gets a career ending injury, the poor 9ers will send his butt to the street. Take care of yourself unless you’re ignorant like a certain poster.

After looking at the Jennings situation where he's got a contract and is requesting a new one or a trade, I'm questioning the "Let's get the college players under contract and we'll stop this transfer mess" ideas.

Apparently Jennings may show up to camp, as required, but not really participate. They're calling it a "hold in" not a "hold out." He may be there but he'll not be inclined to participate any more than the bare minimum unless he gets his contract or trade.

Why would anyone think this won't happen with college kids who have contracts?
